TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Earth Rotation and Its Parameters

open access: yes, 2022
The Earth is under continuous influence of external attractive forces of the Sun and Moon, as well as an internal coupling between the Earth’s core and mantle and mass movements. This is why its rotation is not uniform.

Assimilation of Earth Rotation Parameters in an ocean model

open access: yes, 2011
‘Oceanographic’ Earth rotation parameters (OERP) are calculated by subtracting atmospheric and hydrologic estimates from observed ERP. They are used to constrain a global ocean circulation model. Additionally mass variations derived by GRACE are used.

IGS Earth Rotation Parameters

GPS Solutions, 1999
Since its official start in January 1994, the International GPS Service (IGS) has been distributing, as part of its product combination, two distinct Earth rotation parameter (ERP) series: the IGS Rapid series and the IGS Final series. Initially, the IGS Rapid ERP values were interpolations of the International Earth Rotation Service (IERS) Bulletin A,

Earth Rotation Parameters and Ocean Circulation

open access: yes, 2010
The oceanic contribution to Earth Rotation Parameters (ERP) are studied with an ocean model of variable resolution. The model solves the primitive equations und the hydrostatic approximation on a triangular unstructured mesh.

Fuzzy-wavelet based prediction of Earth rotation parameters

Applied Soft Computing, 2011
Prediction of Earth rotation parameters (ERPs) is of importance especially for near real-time applications including navigation, remote sensing, and hazard monitoring. Therefore, prediction of ERPs at least over a few days in the future is necessary. Fuzzy-inference systems (FIS) are increasingly popular and have advantage over classical FFT that lacks

Optical and laser determination of the Earth rotation parameters

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004
The paper deals with current problems in parameters of the Earth's rotation, i.e., the location of Earth in space, in Russia and the world. Results of the determination of the Earth rotation parameters by optical techniques, satellite laser ranging and GLONASS/GPS satellite navigation systems are presented.

Astronomical series of the Earth rotation parameters

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1991
An outline of the astrometric series of the ERP of their accuracy and of the results obtained from analyses of these data are given in the paper. Presently known systematic differences between the astrometric ERP series and those determined by VLBI and Lageos ranging techniques are discussed.
