Experience in polyharmonic analysis of the parameters of the earth’s rotation

Measurement Techniques, 2004
A method for approximating time series by an nth degree trigonometric polynomial for a series of parameters of the Earth’s rotation, calculated from GPS and GLONASS measurements, is tested. Satisfactory agreement is obtained between the model and experimental data.

Recovering Earth Rotation Parameters with GPS

2006
The monitoring of the Earth Rotation Parameters is presently mainly supported by Very Long Base Interferometry (VLBI), Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), Lunar Laser Ranging (LLR). Among those techniques VLBI only seems able to access to the short variations of the Earth Rotation (ER). In the last few years several simulation were conducted to estimate the

Earth Rotation Parameters Determined By VLBI

1988 Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements, 1988
Analyses of the UTI- and pole series (splitted up into alongtrack components and crosstrack components) of the IRIS and other VLBI Earth rotation programs involving the Wettzell radio telescope are presented, which reveal several short period oscillations. These can be related either to atmospheric or to tidal excitation.

Dynamic processes in earth’s rotation parameters and tidal deformations on a rotating geoid

Doklady Physics, 2014
Amplitude-frequency analysis of the Earth's rotaryoscillatory motion due to lunisolar gravita tional and tidal perturbing torques is performed using methods of classical mechanics. Dynamic processes that occur in Earth's rotation parameters (ERP) and Earth's potential due to tidal deformations lead to distortions in Earth's shape and fluctuations in ...

Research on the estimation method for Earth rotation parameters

SPIE Proceedings, 2008
In this paper, the methods of earth rotation parameter (ERP) estimation based on IGS SINEX file of GPS solution are discussed in details. To estimate ERP, two different ways are involved: one is the parameter transformation method, and the other is direct adjustment method with restrictive conditions.

The Autocovariance Prediction of the Earth Rotation Parameters

1993
Let X t = X 1,X 2,...,X N be an equidistant stationary stochastic process of N observations. Our main interest is in estimating the prediction \({{\hat{X}}_{{N + 1}}} \) in a time of N + 1. In the autocovariance prediction method the first prediction point satisfies the following condition: $$ P = \sum\limits_{k = 0}^{N - 1} {(\hat c'_k - \hat c_k )

Determination of geocenter coordinates and Earth rotation parameters based on Galileo observations. [PDF]

open access: possibleGeophysical Research Abstracts, 2019
Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) is one of the major satellite technique, which can deliver valuable information about Global Geodetic Parameters (GGP) i.e. daily and sub-daily Earth Rotation Parameters (ERPs), including pole coordinates and length-of-day variations, and low-degree gravity field coefficients, including coefficients of degree-

Prediction of Earth rotation parameters by fuzzy inference systems

Journal of Geodesy, 2004
The short-term prediction of Earth rotation parameters (ERP) (length-of-day and polar motion) is studied up to 10 days by means of ANFIS (adaptive network based fuzzy inference system). The prediction is then extended to 40 days into the future by using the formerly predicted values as input data.

The Conceptual and Conventional Definitions of the Earth Rotation Parameters

1986
In order to interpret and to compare the various results of the Earth Rotation Parameters (ERP) with a real 0.001″ level of precision, it is first necessary to define these parameters with the same order of precision. In this purpose, the conceptual definitions (Eichhorn 1983) which should be used for the ERP are given as well as the conventional ...

On the issues of estimating the accuracy of Earth rotation parameters

Modern astronomy: from the Early Universe to exoplanets and black holes
Earth rotation parameters (ERP) are determined at the Institute of Applied Astronomy (IAA) by processing the following types of observations: Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) and Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR).
