Nitrogen dynamics 35 years after stand‐replacing fire: Aboveground pools grow as surface soil pools remain unchanged

open access: yesEcology, Volume 107, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Natural disturbances induce variable recovery pathways, and long‐term studies are key to understanding how that variability affects ecosystem function over time and across space. In subalpine forests, high‐severity wildfires produce high variability in postfire tree density, but how this variability relates to nitrogen (N) cycling remains ...

Effects of Seismogenic Faults on the Predictive Mapping of Probability to Earthquake-Triggered Landslides

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2019
The seismogenic fault is crucial for spatial prediction of co-seismic landslides, e.g., in logistic regression (LR) analysis considering influence factors.

Evidence for Submarine Landslides at Climate Transitions in a High Arctic Fjord (Grise Fiord, Nunavut)

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 10, October 2026.
Seafloor mapping in a high Arctic fjord (Grise Fiord) revealed many submarine landslides triggered by iceberg groundings, coastal debris flows and delta collapses. The dating of three of them suggests that they occurred at past climate transitions. ABSTRACT Arctic fjords are experiencing rapid environmental change driven by amplified high‐latitude ...

Exploiting earthquake-induced landslide inventories for macroseismic assessment using the environmental seismic intensity (ESI-07) scale

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
Earthquake-induced landslides are one of the most impacting effects triggered by seismic events and represent a relevant risk factor. Inventories of earthquake-induced landslides are available for many case histories and may contain thousands of elements.

Geomorphic Imprints of Coseismic Uplift: Knickpoints and Landslides on the Noto Peninsula, Japan

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 10, October 2026.
River knickpoints and slow‐moving landslides show complementary spatial relationships with the vertical and horizontal deformation fields of the 2024 Mw 7.5 Noto Peninsula earthquake. Together, their distributions provide geomorphic information for evaluating cumulative landscape adjustment to repeated coseismic uplift at a regional scale.

Triggering Factors Susceptibility of Earthquake-Induced Collapses and Landslides in Wenchuan County

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2010
:The remote sensing image and the survey results after the earthquake showed that, the Wenchuan Ms8.0 Earthquake had induced more than 5528 collapses and landslides in the Wenchuan County with the area of about 4083 km2.

Increased far-field landslide hazards due to postseismic acceleration by the 2017 Mw 6.4 Nyingchi earthquake

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
Landslides represent a major type of earthquake-triggered geohazard, with their dynamic evolution influenced by the complex interaction of postseismic environmental factors.

A Data‐Driven Review of Geoscience Research Evolution Using SciBERT‐Based Topic and Network Analysis

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 4, October 2026.
This review synthesises the evolution of global geoscience research from 2004 to 2023 using large‐scale bibliometric evidence. By combining keyword co‐occurrence network analysis with SciBERT‐based topic modelling, it identifies major paradigm transitions from geology‐centred research to climate‐focused studies and recent data‐ and AI‐driven ...

The Relationship between InSAR Coseismic Deformation and Earthquake-Induced Landslides Associated with the 2017 Mw 3.9 Ischia (Italy) Earthquake

open access: yesGéosciences, 2018
We investigated the contribution of earthquake-induced surface movements to the ground displacements detected through Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) data, after the Mw 3.9 Ischia earthquake on 21 August 2017.

Hazard and risk assessment of earthquake-induced landslides—case study

open access: yesLandslides, 2017
Landslides as secondary seismic effects are causing some patterns of soil failure that are often considered among the most destructive ones. In fact, the impact from triggered landslides has sometimes exceeded damage directly related to strong shaking ...
