Rapid Earthquake Loss Assessment After Damaging Earthquakes

Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, 2010
Abstract This article summarizes the work done over the last decades regarding the development of new approaches and setting up of new applications for earthquake rapid response systems that function to estimate earthquake losses in quasi-real time after an earthquake.

Strengthening of an Earthquake-Damaged Building

Structural Engineering International, 1992
The behaviour of an important building, the Fundeni Hospital in Bucharest, was a good example of the response of a multistory reinforced concrete framed structure to seismic actions in 1977 and 1986. The methods used to repair this building proved effective, as demonstrated by the good behaviour of the building during a third earthquake in 1990.

Railroad Damage in the Alaska Earthquake

Journal of the Soil Mechanics and Foundations Division, 1967
Permanent horizontal movements of wet unconsolidated water-laid sediments were a major cause of damage to the Alaskan Railroad. Sediments mobilized by the shaking moved toward the unconfined faces of topographic irregularities that ranged in size from small drainage ditches to wide valleys.

LİABİLİTY FOR DAMAGES DUE TO EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE

One of the most concrete scientific facts about the geography in which it is located is that our country is located in the seismic zone. As a result of earthquake disasters that occur every ten years, thousands of people lose their lives or become disabled and suffer significant property losses. Considering that it is not the earthquake but the lack of
