Precursors to Large Earthquakes
1985Seismic quiescence is one of the most promising precursors. Many solid cases of statistically significant seismicity rate decreases preceding large earthquakes have been demonstrated. Two large mainshocks have been predicted by identification of quiescence one to two years ahead of the event.

Spatial selectivity of earthquake’s precursors
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Parts A/B/C, 2006Abstract Multiparameter monitoring of earthquake’s (EQ) precursors reveals their selective localization (selectivity), i.e. a precursor can be observable in relatively small selected sensitive area(s) and not observable over remaining vast region. Selectivity and long distance appearance of precursors are rather strange and difficult for explanation,

Precursors to earthquakes: Seismoelectromagnetic signals
Surveys in Geophysics, 1996Field measurements in the past several years have documented electromagnetic signals which are attributed to precursory stress and strain changes which were followed ultimately by earthquakes. Precursory electric field changes observed in Greece on multiple dipoles have been used to issue earthquake predictions.
