Distribution of heavy metals in surface sediments from the South China Sea ecosystem, Malaysia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The concentrations of arsenic, cadmium, chromium, copper, mercury, nickel, lead and zinc in surface sediments collected from the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, along the South China Sea, were measured by two methods instrumental neutron activation ...

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Projected near term changes in the East Asian summer monsoon and its uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Changes in the East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) during the mid-21st century relative to present day are simulated in two related models GOML1 and GOML2. Both models are the atmospheric components of two state-of-the-art climate models coupled to a multi ...

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

A super Asian dust storm over the East and South China Seas: disproportionate dust deposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A super Asian dust (SAD) storm that originated from North China has affected East Asia since 20 March 2010. The tempo-spatial and size distributions of aerosol Al, a tracer of wind-blown dust, were measured on a regional aerosol network in March 2010 ...

Tuning the Selectivity of the CO2 Reduction Reaction by Means of Synergistic Interactions in the Cu, Ag, Ce System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multi‐metal Cu─Ce─Ag nanoparticles harness synergistic interactions to drive efficient electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction toward C2+ products at high current densities. Ag enhances CO production, Ce modulates Cu oxidation states, and together they boost *CO coverage and local pH to enhance C─C coupling, enabling record C2+ yields with suppressed ...
