The anisotropic seismic structure of the East European platform

Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2004
We present models for the P and S velocity structure of the upper mantle beneath the East European platform including measurements of radial anisotropy. The models were obtained by full waveform inversion of 3‐component broadband seismograms from strike‐slip earthquakes located near the edge of the platform and recorded in Russia and Europe.

The Database “Deep structure of the East-European Platform”

Geophysics of the 21st Century - The Leap into the Future, 2003
Database accumulates the results of deep seismic studies of the East-European Platform more than forty years. Modern technology allows forming it as the system of interrelated maps show the topography of different crust planes. The seismic models formed by the authors of the field studiers were the base for all these maps.

The Lundgreni Event in the Silurian of the East European Platform, Poland

open access: yesPalaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 2004
Abstract The lundgreni event (late Wenlock, Silurian) is here interpreted in terms of palaeontologic (graptolites, microphytoplankton, benthos), biostratigraphic and geochemical evidence derived from Homerian deposits drilled in the Bartoszyce well (East European Platform in Poland).

Deformation of the Deep Earth’s Crust of the East European Platform

Moscow University Geology Bulletin, 2020
The deep structure of the Earth’s crust and the surface of the mantle lithosphere of the East European platform are considered. In the three main layers (lower, middle, and upper) of the Earth’s crust, as well as in the surface of the mantle lithosphere, deformations expressed in the changing thickness of the layers have been identified for the first ...

Geochemistry of Cadmium in Mesozoic Phosphorites of the East European Platform

Lithology and Mineral Resources, 2001
Cadmium is the most toxic admixture in mineral fertilizers. The Cd concentration in Mesozoic phosphorites, which are widespread in the East European Platform, has not been investigated. The present study was stimulated by the scanty and contradictory nature of the published data on this issue.

Diamond Exploration Potential of the Northern East European Platform [PDF]

open access: yesMinerals (Basel, Switzerland), 2018
In this study, we assess the diamond exploration potential of the northern East European Platform based on aeromagnetic survey results and the morphologic and geochemical analysis of 1513 grains of kimberlite indicator minerals (KIMs), such as purple pyrope garnet, olivine, and Cr-diopside.

STRUCTURAL SETTING OF KIMBERLITES ON THE EAST-EUROPEAN PLATFORM

Russian Geology and Geophysics, 1992
Data are given on the repeated formation of kimberlites within shield, plates, and in miogeosyncline zones of mobile regions. The kimberlites are produced during the Earth’s crust extension at the initial stages of large geotectonic cycles (Hercynian, Caledonian, Baikalian, etc) in zones of deep-seated faults which usually parallel the strike of mobile

Research History of the Disturbances in the Center of East European Platform

2019
The peculiar circular structure in the center of the East European Platform was a geological enigma for a long time. In the beginning of 1970th it has been proven as an impact crater with a diameter of 80 km entitled as “Puchezh-Katunki”. Due to detailed exploration including diamond drilling (125 deep boreholes), middle-scale and large-scale ...

General problems in tectonics of old platforms, exemplified by East European Platform

International Geology Review, 1966
The type study, based on a vast body of geophysical data and on thousands of boreholes of which hundreds are deep enough to enter the crystalline basement of the East European Platform, reveals structural and positional characteristics of ridges, troughs, domes, placosynclines, and other expressions of tectonic disturbances.

Kerogen Structure of Shale Strata of the East European Platform

EAGE/SPE Workshop on Shale Science 2019, 2019
Summary The report shows the results of geochemical studies of oil and gas source of the Cenozoic age of the western Ciscaucasia. The geochemical characteristics of the organic matter of the Kumsky rocks show a high oil source potential. Qualitative and quantitative changes reflect not only the new formation of hydrocarbons, but also their emigration ...
