Research on the Tokamak Equipment CAsk (TECA) for Remote Handling in Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST)

2017
The tele-operated transfer cask is required for maintenance in nuclear fusion environment. A type of the transfer cask system, namely TECA (Tokamak Equipment CAsk) is designed for Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST). The whole TECA system schemes, composed of the Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV), the Docking Pallet (DP), and the Conservation ...

Online Plasma Shape Reconstruction for EAST Tokamak

Plasma Science and Technology, 2010
An online plasma shape reconstruction, based on the offline version of the EFIT code and MPI library, can be carried out between two adjacent shots in EAST. It combines online data acquisition, parallel calculation, and data storage together. The program on the master node of the cluster detects the termination of the discharge promptly, reads ...

Observation of Pedestal Plasma Turbulence on EAST Tokamak

Plasma Science and Technology, 2013
Pedestal plasma turbulence was experimentally studied by microwave re∞ectometry on EAST tokamak. The characteristics of edge pedestal turbulence during dithering L-H tran- sition, ELM-free H-mode phase and inter-ELM phase have recently been studied on EAST. An edge spatial structure of density ∞uctuation and its dithering temporal evolution is observed

Modeling of ICRF Antenna Coupling on East Tokamak

2018 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2018
Radiofrequency wave in ion cyclotron range of frequency (ICRF) is an important way for heating plasma, driving current and implementing plasma control in the magnetic fusion devices such as EAST and ITER tokamak. Achieving good coupling of ICRF power into the plasma is an essential issue for high power ICRF injection on the EAST tokamak.

Spectroscopic Measurements of Impurity Spectra on the EAST Tokamak

Plasma Science and Technology, 2012
Ultraviolet (UV) and visible impurity spectra (200~750 nm) are commonly used to study plasma and wall interactions in magnetic fusion plasmas. Two optical multi-channel analysis (OMA) systems have been installed for the UV-visible spectrum measurement on EAST. These two OMA systems are both equipped with the Czerny-Turner (C-T) type spectrometer.

Comparison between EAST and ITER tokamak

Theoretical and Natural Science
This paper provides an overview of nuclear fusion, which is considered as an ideal energy source for the future, with emphasis on its theoretical foundation and tokamak device. In nuclear fusion, the mass of products is always less than the mass of reactants, and this “mass defect” is converted into enormous released energy.

HCN Laser Interferometer on the EAST Superconducting Tokamak

Plasma Science and Technology, 2008
A single-channel far-infrared (FIR) laser interferometer was developed to measure the line averaged electron density on the EAST tokamak. The structure of the single-channel FIR laser interferometer is described in detail. The evolution of density sawtooth oscillation was measured by means the FIR laser interferometer, and was identified by electron ...

Electron Cyclotron Emission Imaging on the EAST Tokamak

Plasma Science and Technology, 2011
An upgraded electron cyclotron emission imaging (ECEI) system consisting of new optics lenses with necessary electronics for receiving and processing signals for two dimension (2D) ECEI diagnostics was installed on EAST. Hyperboloid lens were adopted in the new system to optimize the spatial resolutions.

Operational region and sawteeth oscillation in the EAST tokamak

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2007
The first plasma discharges were successfully achieved on the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST) in 2006. The sawteeth behaviours were observed by means of soft x-ray diagnostics and ECE signals in the EAST. The displacement and radius of the q = 1 surface was studied and compared with the result of equilibrium calculation.
