Understanding and improving the mental health of refugees and asylum‐seekers: Reflections from the closing panel of the 2024 International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies Annual Meeting

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, EarlyView.
Abstract Forcible displacement due to war and persecution has reached unprecedented heights across the globe. The mental health impact of trauma and displacement on refugee communities is profound. Although there are several evidence‐based therapies that are efficacious in reducing symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder and depression in refugees ...

Ballooning instabilities in the ELMO Bumpy Torus (EBT) [PDF]

open access: yesThe Physics of Fluids, 1984
The macroscopic stability of a model ELMO Bumpy Torus (EBT) plasma taking into account variations of the field curvature along the magnetic field is numerically investigated in the long-thin limit. When the compression term has a pole in the ring region the background ballooning mode becomes stable for any value of the hot electron beta because of ...

Exometabolomics Reveals Metabolic Modulation Induced by Chia Oil Supplementation in Adipose Tissue Explants From Obese Mice

open access: yesLipids, EarlyView.
The experimental design and the exometabolomic findings obtained by 1H‐NMR analysis of conditioned media from subcutaneous (SAT) and epididymal adipose tissue (EAT) explants of control and obese mice supplemented with chia oil (1.5% (w/w)). Following 8 weeks of control or high‐fat diet and 5 weeks of chia oil supplementation, SAT and EAT explants were ...

Electrochemical Studies of Eriochrome Black T at Carbon Paste Electrode and Immobilized by SDS Surfactant: A Cyclic Voltammetric Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2008
Eriochrome Black T (EBT), one of the metallochromic indicators whose electrochemical behavior was studied at carbon paste electrode by cyclic voltammetry. The reduction of EBT was carried out in sulfuric acid as supporting electrolyte.

Comparative analysis of RSM, ANN and ANFIS and the mechanistic modeling in eriochrome black-T dye adsorption using modified clay

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2021
: The application of artificial neural network (ANN), response surface methodology (RSM), and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) in modeling the uptake of Eriochrome black-T (EBT) dye from aqueous solution using Nteje clay was the focus of ...

Artificial intelligence, equity, and pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders: A scoping review of clinical practice applications

open access: yesPediatric Investigation, EarlyView.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is being explored to support diagnosis and care for pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders, yet most tools remain in early stages of development. This scoping review identifies limited external validation, narrow population representation, and sparse equity considerations, underscoring the need for inclusive, clinically ...

The Genetic Architecture of Early Body Temperature and Its Correlation With Salmonella Pullorum Resistance in Three Chicken Breeds

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
New-born chicks are vulnerable to bacterial infections and not good at regulating body temperature. There is a close relationship between thermal regulation and immunity, however, the underlying mechanism is not well understood.

Investigation of a plasma mode in EBTS [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2001
A plasma related mode has been identified when EBTS operated with long trap length. The mode frequency scaling showed monotonic increased with confinement time. Initial scaling qualitatively suggested the mode to an electron beam driven ion cyclotron instability. However, a more quantitative evaluation is indicative of a drift mode.

Complex Chemistry of a Chiral Terpyridine Ligand Based on (1R)‐(+)‐Camphor

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
From (1R)‐(+)‐camphor, a chiral terpyridine ligand is accessible in a few steps that coordinates to divalent metal ions of the first and second transition metal row. From structural characterization, the steric repulsion of the two equatorial methyl groups of the tetrahydromethanoquinoline units becomes evident, which causes cyclometalation of the ...

Microwave coupling in EBT reactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
For a typical size ELMO Bumpy Torus (EBT) reactor (approx. 1000 MWe), microwave frequencies required lie in the range of 60 to 110 GHz at power levels of 50 to 75 MW. As the frequency rises, the unloaded cavity (i.e., without plasma) quality factor Q decreases.
