Asymptomatic silicone induced granulomatous disease diagnosed by endobronchial ultrasound with real-time guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA):Silicone induced granulomatous disease diagnosed by EBUS-TBNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Silicone from ruptured breast implants can cause lung symptoms mimicking cancer. The diagnosis may be established by transbronchial lung biopsy or surgery.

Utility of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration in HIV-infected patients with undiagnosed intrathoracic lymphadenopathy

open access: yesLung India, 2018
Background: Intrathoracic lymphadenopathy is a common problem in people living with human immunodeficiency virus (PLHIV). There is, however, limited literature on the utility of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA)

An Unusual Cause of Superior Vena Cava Compression: Delayed Mediastinal Migration of Hyaluronic Acid Breast Fillers

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
Cosmetic filler beyond the breast: hyaluronic acid migration into mediastinal lymph nodes causing superior vena cava compression and diagnostic uncertainty. ABSTRACT Injectable breast fillers are increasingly used as minimally invasive alternatives to implants.

Primary amyloidosis involving mediastinal lymph nodes diagnosed by EBUS-TBNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
SummaryAmyloidosis is an uncommon disease caused by the deposition of abnormal proteins within the soft tissues. Mediastinal lymph node involvement of the disease is rare.

Primary Mediastinal T‐Lymphoblastic Lymphoma With Airway Stenosis Diagnosed Using Endobronchial Ultrasound‐Guided Transbronchial Mediastinal Cryobiopsy: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
EBUS‐Cryo provided larger, well‐preserved tissue specimens, enabling a definitive diagnosis of T‐lymphoblastic lymphoma when EBUS‐TBNA was nondiagnostic. EBUS‐Cryo was performed safely despite substantial tracheal compression, highlighting its potential as a minimally invasive diagnostic option for mediastinal lymphoma.

EBUS-TBNA in patients presented with superior vena cava syndrome

open access: yes, 2012
INTRODUCTION: Expedient pathological diagnosis is crucial in selection of appropriate treatment in patients presented with superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS). The performance and safety of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (

Enhancing diagnostic precision: a multicentric study of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy in lymphoproliferative disorders

open access: yesERJ Open Research
Background The diagnostic accuracy of endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) for the diagnosis of lymphoma has a low overall sensitivity.

Clinical utility of EBUS‐TBNA of hilar, interlobar, and lobar lymph nodes in patients with primary lung cancer

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, 2022
Background Endobronchial ultrasound‐guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA) is used to evaluate hilar/interlobar/lobar lymph nodes. This study aimed to assess the clinical utility of EBUS‐TBNA for station 10/11/12 lymph nodes (LNs) in ...

Additive Value of EBUS-TBNA for Staging Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Patients Evaluated for Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy. [PDF]

open access: yesDiagnostics (Basel)
Background/Objectives: Patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) being evaluated for stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) are frequently staged non-invasively with positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT).

Rescue Diagnosis of Upper‐Lobar Station 12U Lymph Nodes Using the Thin Convex‐Probe EBUS Bronchoscope (BF‐UCP190F): A Report of Two Cases

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
When conventional bronchoscopic forceps biopsy is non‐diagnostic, the TCP‐EBUS bronchoscope (BF‐UCP190F) enables real‐time EBUS‐TBNA of upper‐lobar station 12 lymph node via B3. This rescue approach establishes the definitive pathological diagnosis and directly guides subsequent treatment, highlighting the potential of TCP‐EBUS to expand the diagnostic
