EC-Motors in a Fan Application: A Case Study

2021
Since a few years, Electronically Commutated motors (EC-motors) have gained interest in industry and more specifically in industrial fan applications. The EC-motor has become a serious competitor for induction motor speed controlled applications in the lower power ranges (up to several kW).

Field Simulation Approach for Computing the Commutation Angle Error of EC Motors

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2016
Electronically commutated motors produce a mechanical torque by switching the currents in their stator winding system according to the instantaneous rotor position during rotation. The rotor position is determined by Hall sensors capturing the magnetic field of the rotor's permanent magnets.

Impact of stator grounding in low power single-phase EC-motors

2014 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - APEC 2014, 2014
Bearing currents cause a reduction of ball bearing's lifetime in electronically commutated permanent magnet motors. To compensate the lifetime decreasing factors, a tradeoff between special bearings and additional changes in the machine design have to be found.

The Effects of Growing Popularity of EC Motors on Building's Automatic Systems

2018 International Symposium on Electrical Machines (SME), 2018
The article presents the methods of the control of electrical motors used in modern buildings. The control procedures are strictly connected to the fieldsof applications as the ventilation, air conditioning and other sanitary installations. Possible control structures for different types of motors used, especially for EC motors are presented.

Motor Vehicle Approval Scheme Trough ECE Regulations in Croatia

1998
 Republic of Croatia was the 25th country to sign the Agreement on adoption of uniform conditions for approval and reciprocal recognition of motor vehicle approval equipment and parts which was developed in Geneva on March 20, 1958. Presently, only 54 out of the total number of 104 regulations are in force in Croatia, but a considerable ...
