Development of Homogeneity in an Al-6061 Alloy Processed by ECAP and ECAP-Conform

Materials Science Forum, 2014
Equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) has been established as an effective method to achieve ultrafine-grained materials and ECAP combined with the Conform process (ECAP-Conform) is considered a promising candidate to realize continuous processing by ECAP.

Strength and structure of AlMg3alloy after ECAP and post-ECAP processing

Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2016
ABSTRACTEqual-channel angular pressing (ECAP) is a promising method for the processing of metals with an ultrafine-grain (UFG) structure of a few hundred nanometers in size. In this paper, the influence of solution treatment and artificial aging conditions, combined with a severe plastic deformation process on the AlMg3 aluminum alloy, was studied ...

Inhomogeneity of Microstructure and Creep of ECAP Aluminium

Materials Science Forum, 2006
High purity (99.99%) pure aluminium processed by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) was examined in terms of the ECAP microstructure inhomogeneity and its creep behaviour. The results indicate that an inhomogeneity of the ECAP microstructure in mesoscopic scale may influence the creep behaviour of the pressed material.

Evaluation Grain Homogeneity of Aluminium after ECAP Process by ECAP Geometry Analysis Using Taguchi Method

Key Engineering Materials, 2013
Grain size and homogeneity are influence to aluminium properties, Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) can produce aluminium with ultra fine grain Size (UFG). The grain size is depends on ECAP Dies geometry (Channel angle Φ, Fillet radius ψ) and friction, taguchi method used to find the optimum dies geometry its can produce smaller grain ...

Texture During ECAP and Post ECAP Simple Compression of Commercial Purity 1050 Aluminum Alloy

ASME 2008 2nd Multifunctional Nanocomposites and Nanomaterials, 2008
Electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD) was used to document the texture developed during ECAP. Samples of commercial purity aluminum processed to 8 passes through route BC and route C were examined on two planes (flow plane and the plane normal to the extrusion direction) and pole figures and orientation distribution function plots (ODFs) were ...

Ecap IIߞAn electronic circuit analysis program

IEEE Spectrum, 1971
Ecap II, a nonlinear dc and transient circuit analysis program, uses a free-format, problem-oriented language for describing circuit parameters and topology. Its computation speed is high enough to make the transient analysis of kilobranch nonlinear circuits feasible.

Texture Heterogeneity in ECAP Deformed Copper

Solid State Phenomena, 2010
Polycrystalline copper of 4N purity has been deformed by equal channel angular pressing at room temperature using route BC. Local textures have been measured by high-energy synchrotron radiation along 3 lines in the cross section from the top to the bottom of the billets. The texture heterogeneity observed in the cross section is presented for 2 passes

Al/Al2O3 nano-composite produced by ECAP

2013
Metal matrix nanocomposites have been produced by powder metallurgy route. Al and nano-Al2O3 powders were grinded through high energy ball milling. Then, the composite powders were sintered by Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP). 12 ECAP passes were carried out in order to improve the dispersion of the hard particles.

Towards Extending ECAP Technology from Lab Scale to Manufacturing by Enhanced Multipass Continuous ECAP Process

2019
Last two decades have witnessed innovations in the area of Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) for producing ultra-fine grained materials. But the manipulation of billets between consecutive passes of ECAP may cause problems in industrial set-ups where continuous processing is required.
