The Enigmatic Eccrine Epithelioma (Eccrine Syringomatous Carcinoma)
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1990Eccrine epithelioma is an exceedingly rare cutaneous tumor thought to represent the malignant counterpart of the eccrine dermal syringoma. To data, only 10 accepted cases appear to have been reported. Two additional cases are described here and the literature is reviewed. Eccrine Porocarcinoma (Malignant Eccrine Poroma)
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2001The clinicopathologic characteristics of 69 cases of eccrine porocarcinoma (EP) have been studied. Seven cases of purely in situ disease are included. Forty patients were female, 29 male with ages ranging from 29 to 91 years (mean 73 years). The lower extremity represented the single most common site (44%).

The grouping of this entity under the term "tubular apocrine adenoma" in a recent edition of a textbook led to further study of this case in the form of enzyme histochemistry and electron microscopy.
