Eccrine syringofibroadenoma in a patient with quadriplegia following transverse myelitis [PDF]

open access: yesSurgical & Cosmetic Dermatology, 2023
Eccrine syringofibroadenoma (EFAS) is a rare benign tumor that originates from the eccrine sweat glands. It has a predilection for the extremities of elderly individuals and may arise in association with various acquired or hereditary diseases and ...

The microfluidics of the eccrine sweat gland, including biomarker partitioning, transport, and biosensing implications.

open access: yesBiomicrofluidics, 2015
Non-invasive and accurate access of biomarkers remains a holy grail of the biomedical community. Human eccrine sweat is a surprisingly biomarker-rich fluid which is gaining increasing attention.

Drug Excretion in Human Eccrine Sweat

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1971
Six healthy adult male volunteers received single doses of sulfaguanidine (6 g), sulfadiazine (4 g), antipyrine (1 g) and aminopyrine (1 g). These drugs include physical properties ranging as follows: pK 1.4–10.0, excluding drugs largely ionized at physiologic pH; partition coefficient, k: 0.001–0.15; molecular dimensions approximately constant. Sweat (

Training of Eccrine Sweat Glands in Paraplegics

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1970
In paraplegics sweating was evaluated both above and below a lesion of the spinal cord. Sweating was measured on the forearm and thigh during both thermal stress or repeated injections of methacholine. The results were as follows: (1) Three traumatic paraplegics did not sweat in response to the thermal stress in decentralized areas.

Gross cystic disease fluid protein 15 in stratum corneum is a potential marker of decreased eccrine sweating for atopic dermatitis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
It is well known that eccrine sweating is attenuated in patients with atopic dermatitis (AD). We have reported by using proteome analysis that gross cystic disease fluid protein 15 (GCDFP15), a substance secreted from eccrine sweat glands, is decreased ...

An unusual clinical presentation of eccrine poroma occurring on the auricle

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2015
Eccrine poromas are benign, slow-growing, solitary tumors originating from the intraepidermal portion of eccrine sweat ducts. Approximately 65% of these tumors occur on the soles of the feet, while 10% occur on the hands where a high concentration of ...

Eccrine porocarcinoma with squamous differentiation in a patient with oculocutaneous albinism

open access: yesIndian Dermatology Online Journal, 2020
Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare malignant skin appendage tumor of sweat gland origin. Eccrine porocarcinoma arising in a patient of oculocutaneous albinism is extremely rare and only two cases have been reported in English literature to the best of our ...

Dermoscopy of squamoid eccrine ductal carcinoma: an aid for early diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesAnais Brasileiros de Dermatologia, 2018
: Squamoid eccrine ductal carcinoma is a cutaneous malignancy that originates from the eccrine sweat gland. A 76-year-old woman presented with an asymptomatic papule on her nose that had been present for one year. Dermoscopy showed pseudocysts, irregular

Autonomic thermoregulatory dysfunction in neurofibromatosis type 1

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria
Objective Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) causes neural and cutaneous disorders and reduced exercise capacity. Exercise/heat exposure increasing internal temperature must be compensated by eccrine sweat function and warmed skin vasodilation. We suspected
