Secretion of a Differentiated Cuticle after Apolysis in vitro in Cockroach Leg Integument

open access: yes, 2007
Pieces of the integument cut off from the hind tibiae of the freshly moulted adult cockroaches were cultivated in vitro. The epidermis reacted to the application of 2 x 10-5 mol l-1 ecdysterone by an apolysis.

Action of ecdysterone on the moulting of amphipod females: Gammarus pulex (L.) and G.fossarum Koch. Early results. [Translation from: Crustaceana 28, 86-88, 1975.] [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
In studying sexual attraction in gammarids of the group pulex, it has seemed necessary to dissociate the processes of moulting and ovogenesis in order to recognize their respective effects on this phenomenon.

Carbonic anhydrase and Na/K-ATPase activities during the molt cycle of low salinity-reared white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Changes in hemolymph osmolality, ion concentrations, and enzymatic activities of carbonic anhydrase (CA) in the gills and epidermal tissue, and Na/K-ATPase in the gills during the molt cycle were investigated in the white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei.

Ecdysis in Tmetocera Ocellana Schiff

open access: yesAnnals of the Entomological Society of America, 1922
An examination of the literature on the Bud-moth, ( Tmetocera ocellana Schiff .) reveals little concerning the moulting of such a common pest. In fact there has been very little investigation of the moulting of any of the Lepidoptera and especially of the measurement of the moulted head capsules.
