During present study it was recorded that 6-methoxy ageratochromene isolated from whole herb acetone extract of Ageratum conyzoides inhibits the growth and moulting in the second and fourth instar larval treatment of Culex quinquefasciatus.

Contributions to the biology of molting and growth of the Longarm river prawn Macrobrachium tenellum (Decapoda: Paleamonidae) in Mexico [PDF]
Studies on the molting cycle of Macrobrachium tenellum are not available, which limits the scope of studies of growth and reproduction. The duration of the molt cycle was determined under controlled experimental conditions.

Characterization of a set of abdominal neuroendocrine cells that regulate stress physiology using colocalized diuretic peptides in Drosophila [PDF]
Multiple neuropeptides are known to regulate water and ion balance in Drosophila melanogaster. Several of these peptides also have other functions in physiology and behavior.

Calcitonin‐like diuretic hormone influences reproduction in adult female Rhodnius prolixus
Highlights • CT/DH‐like immunoreactivity is present in female reproductive tissues • CT/DH receptor transcripts are expressed in the fat body and ovaries • RNAi knockdown of CT/DH receptors reduces egg number and hatching rate • Rhopr‐CT/DH increases RhoprVg1 and RhoprVgR expression in ovaries in vitro • Rhopr‐CT/DH stimulates oviduct contractions in a

The Life History of Folsomia Candida (Willem) (Collembola: Isotomidae) Relative to Temperature [PDF]
The parthenogenetic mode of reproduction in Collembola, although frequently questioned in the past (Schaller, 1953; Mayer, 1957; Falkenhan, 1932), has only recently been recorded and confirmed for several species; Onychiutus parthenogeneticus Choudhuri ...

Group I LPMO15‐1 cDNAs from two economically important forest insect pests, M. alternatus and P. hilaris, were cloned. MaLPMO15‐1 and PhLPMO15‐1 show a similar pattern of expression during late stages of development. RNAi for LPMO15‐1 causes failure of adult eclosion in both M. alternatus and P. hilaris.

The principal arboviral vector Aedes aegypti can develop in coastal brackish water field habitats (0.5–15 g/L salt) with larvae possessing thicker cuticles and greater resistance to the larvicide Temephos. Females emerging from brackish water‐developing preimaginal stages are now shown to have thicker and remodelled leg and abdominal cuticles and ...
