Performance Measures, Discretionary Accruals, and CEO Cash Compensation

ABSTRACT This paper examines the relative weights assigned to three performance measures—stock returns, accounting earnings, and operating cash flows—in determining executive cash compensation. We find that returns receive the highest weight, followed by earnings, while cash flows carry the least weight.

Incidental Detection of Portal Venous Gas During POCUS in a Neonate With Necrotizing Enterocolitis and Intestinal Perforation: A Case Report

Point‐of‐care ultrasound performed at the bedside identified hepatic portal venous gas in a critically ill neonate, prompting urgent evaluation and revealing intestinal perforation due to necrotizing enterocolitis. This case highlights the potential of POCUS to accelerate diagnosis when clinical signs are subtle or nonspecific.

Scale of Alopecia Areata Distress (SAAD‐41): Initial Validation Part 2—Scoring, Preliminary Reference Values and Validity

The SAAD‐41 is a 41‐item scale developed to comprehensively assess Alopecia Areata psychosocial patient‐reported outcomes. Results support scoring the scale at the subdomain level and provisionally at the total‐score level. The total‐score can be calculated as a sum of the 41 SAAD items, with the sum referred to as the SAAD‐41‐Total.
