The Lick Observatory Hamilton Echelle Spectrometer [PDF]
The Hamilton Echelle Spectrometer, recently installed at the coudé focus of the Shane 3-m telescope, is a high dispersion spectrograph optimized for use with large format CCD's. It was designed primarily for high resolution (R=50,000) wide bandpass spectroscopy of point-like sources down to a limiting magnitude of about V=16.5, over the 0.34 μm to 1.1 ...

CHIRON – A new high resolution spectrometer for CTIO
Small telescopes can play an important role in the search for exoplanets because they offer an opportunity for high cadence observations that are not possible with large aperture telescopes.

CIRCUMSTELLAR ACTIVITY OF THE HERBIG AE STAR HD163296
We present new results of a high-resolution spectroscopic investigation of the young Ae Herbig star HD163296. Nineteen spectra of this object had been obtained on May 8 - 10, 2002 at the ESO with the FEROS echelle spectrometer installed at the 1.52m ...

This study examined whether the preparation of samples for CF‐LIBS influences the results of measurements taken on biological samples. Porcine skin, muscle and fat were analysed. Some samples were cut with a scalpel, some were sectioned using liquid nitrogen and some were embedded in PBS or deionised water.

The development of the Atmospheric Measurements by Ultra-Light Spectrometer (AMULSE) greenhouse gas profiling system and application for satellite retrieval validation [PDF]
We report in this paper the development of an embedded ultralight spectrometer (<3 kg) based on tuneable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (with a sampling rate of 24 Hz) in the mid-infrared spectral region.

Germanium‐Based Mid‐Infrared Integrated Photonics
The mid‐infrared (mid‐IR) spectral range is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum in which most of the molecules have vibrational and rotational resonances. Photonics integration in this wavelength range have thus seen a burst of interest in the recent years, mainly driven by applications related with the detection of chemical and biological ...

Design and Implementation of a Compact Echelle Spectrometer
As a special kind of spectrometers, echelle spectrometer features wide spectral range and full spectrum direct reading. However, the two-dimensional dispersion of the echelle grating usually leads to complex structure and aberration conditions, which impacts the resolution. In this work, a compact echelle spectrometer with wide detection range and high

Testing of an Echelle Spectrometer as a LIBS Detector at Sandia [PDF]
Some useful information has been obtained regarding the potential use of the echelle spectrometer system for Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) monitoring applications, despite the AOTF-computer operational problems during the Sandia site-test.
