E-Cigarette Affects the Metabolome of Primary Normal Human Bronchial Epithelial Cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
E-cigarettes are widely believed to be safer than conventional cigarettes and have been even suggested as aids for smoking cessation. However, while reasonable with some regards, this judgment is not yet supported by adequate biomedical research data ...

Model for the long and orbital brightness variability of the β Lyrae type binary OGLE-BLG-ECL-157529 [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics, 2021
Context. Some close binaries of the β Lyrae type show photometric cycles longer than the orbital one, which are possibly related to changes in their accretion disks. Aims. We aim to understand the short- and long-scale morphologic changes observed in the light curve of the eclipsing system OGLE-BLG-ECL-157529.

The Cyclicality of Bank Credit Losses and Capital Ratios under Expected Loss Model

open access: yes, 2023
We model the evolution of stylised bank loan portfolios to assess the impact of IFRS 9 and US GAAP expected loss model (ECL) on the cyclicality of loan loss provisions (LLPs), realised losses and capital ratios of banks, relative to the incurred loss ...

Sensitive, Signal-Modulation Strategy for Discrimination of ECL Spectra and Investigation of Mutual Interactions of Emitters

open access: yes, 2022
The intensity of electrochemiluminescence (ECL) usually changes rapidly with the progress of the electrochemical process, making it difficult to determine the ECL spectrum with a conventional photomultiplier in a wavelength scan model.

Fault modelling of ECL devices

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1990
Logic behaviour of an ECL OR/NOR gate under different physical faults is examined. It is shown that the conventional stuck-at fault modelling may be inadequate for obtaining a sufficiently high fault coverage. A new augmented stuck-at fault model is presented which provides a better coverage of physical failures.

Assessment of [Ru(bpy)2]3+and [Os(diars)2(bthp)]2+ for the electrochemiluminescence detection of gemcitabine and leucovorin toward diagnostic point-of-care sensors within precision medicine

open access: yesSensors and Actuators Reports, 2021
With advances in medical understanding and pharmaceutical drug development a shift away from the traditional “one size fits all” approaches common place in today's treatment plans have been witnessed.

A Pilot Study to Propose a "Harm Scale", a New Method to Predict Risk of Harm to the Corneal Endothelium Caused by Longitudinal Phacoemulsification, and the Subsequent Effect of Endothelial Damage on Post Operative Visual Acuity. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
PURPOSE:To study the effect of longitudinal phacoemulsification energy on corneal endothelium and to evaluate the relationship between changes of endothelial cells and postoperative visual acuity.

Testing The Impact Of Process Defects On Ecl Powerdelay Performance

open access: yes, 1993
The impact of process defects on the emitter-coupled-logic (ECL) power-delay product has been evaluated. We have developed modelling equations including process defects in the delay analysis. The delay equation provides an insight into the sensitivity of

Determining the optimal nitrogen rate for summer maize in China by integrating agronomic, economic, and environmental aspects [PDF]

open access: yesBiogeosciences, 2014
The concept of high yield with a goal of minimum environmental cost has become widely accepted. However, the trade-offs and complex linkages among agronomic, economic, and environmental factors are not yet well understood.

A Highly Sensitive Fluorescence and Screen-Printed Electrodes—Electrochemiluminescence Immunosensor for Ricin Detection Based on CdSe/ZnS QDs with Dual Signal

open access: yesToxins, 2022
A sensitive dual-readout immunosensor for fluorescence and electrochemiluminescence (ECL) detection of ricin was established, which was combined with a streptavidin–biotin signal amplification system.
