Machine Learning Analysis for Phenolic Compound Monitoring Using a Mobile Phone-Based ECL Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Machine learning (ML) can be an appropriate approach to overcoming common problems associated with sensors for low-cost, point-of-care diagnostics, such as non-linearity, multidimensionality, sensor-to-sensor variations, presence of anomalies, and ...

Digital model for switching transistors in series-gated ECL

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1989
A digital model is proposed that allows function verification and timing analysis of series-gated ECL to be performed on a logic simulator. Traditionally, an analogue simulator will be necessary because series-gated ECL circuits are constructed from transistors rather than primitive gates.

MODELING TRANSITING CIRCUMSTELLAR DISKS: CHARACTERIZING THE NEWLY DISCOVERED ECLIPSING DISK SYSTEM OGLE LMC-ECL-11893 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2014
We investigate the nature of the unusual eclipsing star OGLE LMC-ECL-11893 (OGLE J05172127-6900558) in the Large Magellanic Cloud recently reported by Dong et al. 2014. The eclipse period for this star is 468 days, and the eclipses exhibit a minimum of ~1.4 mag, preceded by a plateau of ~0.8 mag.

Novel Size-Variable Dedicated Rodent Oxygenator for ECLS Animal Models: Introduction of the “Ratox” Oxygenator and Preliminary In-Vitro Results

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
The survival rate of extracorporeal life support (ECLS) remains overall at 60 %. Research and development is slow, partly due to the lack of sophisticated experimental models. This publication introduces a dedicated rodent oxygenator (“RatOx”) and shows preliminary in vitro classification tests.

Insights into electrochemiluminescent enhancement through electrode surface modification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The electrochemiluminescent (ECL) properties of a luminescent metal centre, [Ru(bpy)(3)](2+), can be significantly modulated through its electronic interaction with neighbouring centres and the polymer backbone used to confine it on an electrode surface.

Novel Detection of Acrylamide by Electrochemiluminescence Sensor and Optical Imaging Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Acrylamide, a carcinogen with debilitating effects on human health, was detected by electrochemiluminescence (ECL) measurement using Ru(bpy)32+ as the luminophore.

A Forward-Looking IFRS 9 Methodology, Focussing on the Incorporation of Macroeconomic and Macroprudential Information into Expected Credit Loss Calculation

open access: yesRisks, 2023
The International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 9 relates to the recognition of an entity’s financial asset/liability in its financial statement, and includes an expected credit loss (ECL) framework for recognising impairment. The quantification of

A proposed benchmark model using a modularised approach to calculate IFRS 9 expected credit loss

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance, 2020
The objective of this paper is to develop a methodology to calculate expected credit loss (ECL) using a transparent-modularised approach utilising three components: probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD) and exposure at default (EAD).

Heliospheric modulation of the interstellar dust flow on to Earth

open access: yes, 2018
Aims. Based on measurements by the Ulysses spacecraft and high-resolution modelling of the motion of interstellar dust (ISD) through the heliosphere we predict the ISD flow in the inner planetary system and on to the Earth.

Framework for Model Independent Analyses of Multiple Extra Quark Scenarios [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper we present an analysis strategy and a dedicated tool to determine the exclusion confidence level for any scenario involving multiple heavy extra quarks with generic decay channels, as predicted in several extensions of the Standard Model ...
