Excitonic Anisotropy in Single‐Crystalline 2D Silver Phenylchalcogenides

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Using a combination of ab initio theory and optical micro‐spectroscopy, in‐plane anisotropy of multiple delocalized excitons in 2D silver phenylchalcogenides (AgEPh; E = S, Se, Te) is predicted and characterized. Cryogenic reflectance micro‐spectroscopy further reveals the fine structure of excitonic bands in AgSePh.

Bi–Sb Co‐Alloying Tunes Photoexcited State Dynamics in (4FPEA)4AgBi1−xSbxI8 Layered Double Perovskites through Structural Confinement

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Lead‐free double perovskites are emerging alternatives to lead‐halide analogues, leveraging low toxicity and highly tunable chemical compositions. These materials possess unique carrier dynamics, often governed by self‐trapped exciton (STE)‐mediated recombination.

Boosting the Magnetic Response of a Composite Nanostructure in the Near‐Visible Region with a Fano Resonance

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Optical simulations of composite plasmonic split‐ring resonators show that a magnetic response can be obtained at wavelengths near the visible regime. The response is further increased by extending the geometry and enabling a Fano resonance through the coupling of magnetic dipoles.

A Compact Optical Sensor to Self‐Assess Skin Health after Sun Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a portable, low‐cost device capable of detecting changes in the skin associated with excessive sun exposure through reflectance measurements. In vitro validation experiments in skin‐mimicking tissue phantoms showed the device can detect relative pigmentation changes as small as 5%.
