Clinical applications of next‐generation sequencing‐based ctDNA analyses in breast cancer: defining treatment targets and dynamic changes during disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Impact of 21 June 2020 Annular Solar Eclipse on Meteorological Parameters, O3 and CO at a High Mountain Site in Taiwan

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research, 2022
The annular solar eclipse observed on 21 June 2020 over Taiwan provided a rare opportunity to follow the responses of various meteorological parameters and trace gases to the solar eclipse.

The New Eclipsing Cataclysmic Variable SDSS 154453+2553

open access: yes, 2011
The cataclysmic variable SDSS154453+2553 was recently identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We obtained spectra and photometry at the MDM Observatory, which revealed an eclipse with a 6.03 hour period.

Exoplanetary Transit Constraints Based Upon Secondary Eclipse Observations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Transiting extrasolar planets provide an opportunity to study the mass-radius relation of planets as well as their internal structure. The existence of a secondary eclipse enables further study of the thermal properties of the the planet by observing at ...

Unraveling the metastasis‐preventing effect of miR‐200c in vitro and in vivo

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Advanced tumors and ineffective cancer treatments can lead to metastases in distant organs. The sole expression of microRNA 200c (miR‐200c) in breast cancer cells is shown to significantly reduce metastasis formation in xenograft mouse models. Various in vitro analyses revealed impeded migratory behavior, upon miR‐200c expression, as one prerequisite ...

The ionospheric responses to the 11 August 1999 solar eclipse: observations and modeling [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2008
A total eclipse occurred on 11 August 1999 with its path of totality passing over central Europe in the latitude range 40°–50° N. The ionospheric responses to this eclipse were measured by a wide ionosonde network.

Changes in the surface broadband shortwave radiation budget during the 2017 eclipse [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2020
While solar eclipses are known to greatly diminish the visible radiation reaching the surface of the Earth, less is known about the magnitude of the impact. We explore both the observed and modeled levels of change in surface radiation during the eclipse

Precise Measurement of Gravity Variations During a Total Solar Eclipse

open access: yes, 2010
The variations of gravity were measured with a high precision LaCoste-Romberg D gravimeter during a total solar eclipse to investigate the effect of solar eclipse on the gravitational field.

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.
