A Millisecond Pulsar in an Eclipsing Binary

Nature, 1988
We report the discovery of a remarkable pulsar with period 1.6 ms, moving in a nearly circular 9.17 hour orbit around a low mass companion star. At an observing frequency of 430 MHz, the pulsar, PSR 1957+20, is eclipsed once each orbit for about 50 minutes.

The Eclipsing Binary WX Eridani

International Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1979
AbstractThe Algol-type eclipsing binary WX Eridani was observed on 21 nights on the 48-inch telescope of the Japal-Rangapur Observatory during 1973-75 in B and V colours. An improved period of P = 0.82327038 days was obtained from the analysis of the times of five primary minima.

AB Andromedae – An overcontact eclipsing binary

New Astronomy, 2021
Abstract In an effort to resolve the discrepancy between two earlier studies, new radial velocity and photometric data have been obtained and analyzed by Roche modelling for AB Andromedae, an overcontact W-subtype eclipsing binary. The new values for the basic data, m1 = 0.60 (3) Mʘ, m2 = 1.14 (3) Mʘ, R1 = 0.81 (1) Rʘ, R2 = 1.08 (1) Rʘ, L1 = 0.73 (6)

Notes on Eclipsing Binaries

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1956
The observations reported here were obtained in the course of a program of searching for eclipsing binaries which may increase our meager knowledge of the fundamental properties of stars not on the main sequence. Of the stars discussed, three (V694 Aquilae, UU Cancri, and GG Cassiopeiae), while of considerable interest, do not appear promising from ...
