Drivers of Stopover Distribution Across Two Autumn Migration Routes of a Long‐Distance Afro‐Palearctic Migrant, the Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
We model autumn stopover distribution of UK common cuckoos across two migration routes, revealing distinct environmental drivers and key geographic hotspots. Iberian mountain systems and the Po watershed emerge as critical stopover regions, with climate, elevation, habitat heterogeneity, and hunting risk shaping route‐specific patterns.

Western Bluebirds (Sialia mexicana) Use Public Information for Prospecting but Not Ultimate Nest Site Selection

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Prospecting Western Bluebirds demonstrated a strong response to public information simulating reproductive success within nest boxes deployed in agricultural systems, but this initial attraction did not translate to increased box selection the following breeding season.

Design of a TiO2/Poly(Ani‐co‐Cz) Macromolecular Nanocomposite With Enhanced Solar Photocatalytic and Antibacterial Performance

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 8, August 2026.
A TiO2/poly(Ani‐co‐Cz) nanocomposite demonstrates enhanced solar photocatalytic and antibacterial performance. The synergistic interaction improves charge separation, increases reactive species generation, and accelerates pollutant degradation under sunlight, offering a promising multifunctional material for environmental remediation and antimicrobial ...
