VW LMi: tightest quadruple system known. Light-time effect and possible secular changes of orbits

open access: yes, 2008
Tightest known quadruple systems VW LMi consists of contact eclipsing binary with P_12 = 0.477551 days and detached binary with P_34 = 7.93063 days revolving in rather tight, 355.0-days orbit.

Precision Timing of Eclipsing Binaries from TESS Full Frame Images: Method and Performance

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Several hundreds of thousands of eclipsing binaries (EBs) are expected to be detected in the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) full frame images (FFIs).

Radial velocity and light curves analysis of the eclipsing binary NN Vir

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The eclipsing binary NN Vir is a short period system showing an EW-type light curve. Photometric Observations of NN Vir were done by Gomez-Ferrellad & Garcia-Melendo (1997) at Esteve Duran Observatory.

Production of a food‐grade pickering emulsion stabilized by pea protein‐different phenolic acids

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND This study aimed to use pea protein isolate‐phenolic acids (PPI‐PA) to create novel functional stabilizers for Pickering emulsions. The stabilizers were produced by the covalent bonding of PPI with gallic acid (GA), ferulic acid (FA), coumaric acid (CA), and chlorogenic acid (CGA).

Evaluating patterns of plant phenological progression and pronghorn movement behaviors across diverse landscapes Évaluation des modèles de progression phénologique des plantes et des comportements de mouvement des antilopes d'Amérique dans divers paysages

open access: yesWildlife Monographs, EarlyView.
We found variable spatial and temporal patterns and predictability of plant phenological progression across 8 pronghorn ranges in Montana. We sampled potential exposure to phenology values for migrants and residents along spring movement paths and summer ranges and found that within herds and years the resident and migrant movement strategies conferred

A New Binary Star System of EW Type in Draco: GSC 03905-01870

open access: yes, 2018
Discovery of a new binary star system (GSC 03905-01870 = USNO-B1.0 1431-0327922 = UCAC4 716-059522) in the Draco constellation is presented. It was discovered during a search for previously unreported eclipsing binary stars through the ASAS-SN database ...

Data privacy model using blockchain reinforcement federated learning approach for scalable internet of medical things

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has typical advancements in the healthcare sector with rapid potential proof for decentralised communication systems that have been applied for collecting and monitoring COVID‐19 patient data. Machine Learning algorithms typically use the risk score of each patient based on risk factors, which could help ...

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF NUMERICAL METHODS OF DETERMINATION OF PARAMETERS OF BINARY STARS. CASE OF SPHERICAL COMPONENTS

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2013
We discuss methods for modeling eclipsing binary stars. There are few realizations of the Wilson- Devinney (1971) code and its improvements, e.g. “Binary Makef’, “Phoebe”. A parameter search using the Monte- Carlo method was realized by Zola et al. (2010)

David Marquand and Progressive Politics

open access: yesThe Political Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract Throughout his career, David Marquand grappled with the shape of modern British history, arranging it into different traditions, lineages and timelines. The Progressive Dilemma was the culmination of one such strand of work, centred around his interest in the relationship between social democracy and social liberalism.

Luminosity Discrepancy in the Equal-Mass, Pre--Main Sequence Eclipsing Binary Par 1802: Non-Coevality or Tidal Heating?

open access: yes, 2011
Parenago 1802, a member of the ~1 Myr Orion Nebula Cluster, is a double-lined, detached eclipsing binary in a 4.674 d orbit, with equal-mass components (M_2/M_1 = 0.985 \pm 0.029).
