Ablation of Ventricular Tachycardia Using the QDOT MICRO Ablation Catheter (VT‐MICRO Study)

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 1, February 2026.
Catheter ablation is useful to treat patients with ventricular tachycardia. QDOT Micro catheter is a next generation catheter designed to provide more efficient lesion creation with an accurate myocardial substrate analysis. Microelectrode mapping allows detection of higher voltage electrograms compared to standard bipolar mapping and Pentaray mapping.

Airway management and mechanical ventilation using the Ventrain in a cat for surgical repair of an intrathoracic tracheal avulsion

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract This report describes the complex management of an 11‐month‐old male cat with an intrathoracic tracheal avulsion following blunt trauma, a rare but critical injury typically associated with vehicular accidents. Presenting with severe dyspnoea 10 days after a car accident, the cat exhibited a marked narrowing of the tracheal lumen to 1.2 mm ...

Low ICU Admission and Excellent Outcomes in MIS‐C: A Swedish Study From an Open Society

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 115, Issue 2, Page 335-344, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim During the COVID‐19 pandemic, Sweden chose a more open public health approach. A general concern was that this approach would affect the population negatively. We describe the Swedish national MIS‐C cohort and risk factors for severe disease defined as admission to the intensive care unit and cardiogenic shock.

Reflections on Consciousness in Intensive Care

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 115, Issue 2, Page 275-284, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Evaluating consciousness in intensive care is pivotal to relieving suffering with analgesic or sedative drugs and in prognosis and diagnoses. The usual clinical perspective is to equate consciousness with responsiveness, assuming functional motor responses and sympathetic activity of the patient. Clinical diagnoses of coma may be wrong in more

Alternative Measures of Body Composition and Outcomes Following Heart Transplant

open access: yesClinical Transplantation, Volume 40, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Current guidelines for heart transplant (HT) listing support body mass index (BMI) < 35 kg/m2, though data supporting this recommendation is mixed. It is unclear if other more specific measurements of body composition are better predictors of outcomes post‐HT.

Occurrence, Definition and Risk Factors Related to Groin Wound Complications Following Open Vascular Surgeries

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Open femoral vessel access is commonly performed in vascular surgery, but surgical site complications (SSCs) occur frequently. The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence and identify potential risk factors by applying a new standardised definition and grading of various types of groin wound complications.
