Efficient Concentration and Complete Destruction of Short‐Chain and Emerging PFAS in Contaminated Water via Integrated Interface Engineering‐Enhanced Carbon Felt Sorption and Photochemical Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A closed‐loop “Concentrate‐Destroy” strategy is presented for completely eliminating short‐chain and emerging PFAS, in which the new 3D PPy@P‐CF is used for efficiently concentrating PFAS and Cu2+‐mediated photodegradation is applied for the completely destroying PFAS in the sorbent regeneration eluent.

A Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas of the Ovine Rumen Microbiome Characterizes Lineage‐Specific Metabolic Shifts Associated with Host Heat Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

Multi‐Component Functionalized Bifidobacterium Longum Hydrogel for Multi‐Target Integrated Therapy of Colitis‐Associated Anxiety and Depression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A pH/MMP dual‐responsive Bifidobacterium longum (BL) hydrogel (INPs@BL@Gel) functionalized with baicalin, tyrosine, and inulin is constructed. It enables gastric protection, inflammation‐targeted release, and prolonged intestinal colonization. By remodeling gut microbiota, elevating beneficial neuroactive metabolites (homovanillic acid, short‐chain ...

Short‐term grazing reduced community stability by decreasing community‐wide asynchrony and dominant species stability

open access: yesEcosphere
The effects of grazing on natural grasslands' plant composition, diversity, and productivity depend on the intensity of grazing. Besides grazing intensity, animal composition is also important. However, whether and how sheep grazing intensity affects the

How the root bacterial community of Ficus tikoua responds to nematode infection: enrichments of nitrogen-fixing and nematode-antagonistic bacteria in the parasitized organs

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) are among the most damaging pathogens to host plants. Plants can modulate their associated bacteria to cope with nematode infections. The tritrophic plant–nematode–microbe interactions are highly taxa-dependent, resulting

Light‐Activated Ruthenium Nanoclusters Reprogram the Metabolic‐Quorum Sensing Axis for Precision Periodontitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Under 660 nm visible light, Ru NCs efficiently photocatalyze nitrate‐to‐ammonium conversion and modulate oral nitrogen metabolism. They precisely perturb Veillonella parvula, block its key support to Porphyromonas gingivalis, and exert an “inhibiting without killing” antivirulence effect.
