Metal‐Half‐Salen Chemistry for One‐Pot Mineralization on Hydrophobic Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here we report a versatile one‐pot synthetic strategy for organic–inorganic composite membranes, which leverages a metal half‐Salen system to precisely govern the competing kinetics of coordination and hydrolysis. In contrast to conventional two‐step metal‐phenol chemistries, our integrated approach substantially simplifies the fabrication process ...

Are current ecological restoration practices capturing natural levels of genetic diversity? A New Zealand case study using AFLP and ISSR data from mahoe (Melicytus ramiflorus) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Sourcing plant species of local provenance (eco-sourcing) has become standard practice in plant community restoration projects. Along with established ecological restoration practices, knowledge of genetic variation in existing and restored forest ...

Interference of ATP‐Binding Cassette Transporter by Functional Nano‐Delivery System for High Efficiency Management of Insecticide‐Resistant Nilaparvata lugens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A ZIF‐90 nanocarrier delivers dinotefuran and suppresses NlABCG3 and NlABCH1 in resistant Nilaparvata lugens. This system combines pH/ATP‐triggered release with enhanced foliar retention, improving efficacy while sparing honeybees and promoting rice growth, offering a promising resistance‐breaking strategy.

Assessing Landscape Ecological Sensitivity and Simulating Land Use Patterns with a DPSI-PLUS Framework

open access: yesLand
Rapid urbanization has significantly altered land use patterns in Deqing County, placing increasing pressure on its ecosystem. This study establishes a Driving Force–Pressure–State–Impact (DPSI) framework and selects ten indicators to evaluate ecological

Crosstalk Between CTSB+ Glioblastoma Cells and S100A10+ Macrophages: A Self‐Reinforcing Circuit Promotes Immune Evasion and Limits Response to Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In glioblastoma, M2‐polarized macrophages secrete IL‐6, which activates STAT3 signaling in tumor cells to upregulate CTSB. Tumor‐derived CTSB binds the C‐terminus of macrophage S100A10, reinforcing M2 polarization and further IL‐6 secretion, thereby establishing a feedforward IL‐6/STAT3/CTSB/S100A10 loop. This cascade drives tumor growth, invasion, and

Ecological sensitivity: a biospheric view of climate change [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Climate change is often characterized in terms of climate sensitivity, the globally averaged temperature rise associated with a doubling of the atmospheric CO2 (equivalent) concentration. In this study, we develop and apply two new ecological sensitivity

Long Noncoding RNA PCALRx Interacts with Pyruvate Carboxylase to Drive Multi‐Organ Developmental Toxicity in Zebrafish Embryos Exposed to Amoxicillin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.
