Arisaema siahaense sp. nov. (Araceae) from India

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
A new species of Arisaema Mart. (Araceae) belonging to sect. Fimbriata is described and illustrated here from the Siaha District, Mizoram, India. This new species is characterized by an evergreen, dioecious herbaceous habit, up to 1.08 m high, having a subglobose tuber, with a solitary trifoliate leaf.

The relative roles of in situ diversification and lineage dispersal underlying diversity patterns at the assemblage level

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Speciation, extinction, and dispersal are the historical processes influencing the spatial distribution of lineages and strongly influence diversity patterns. Here, we apply a recently developed methodological approach to quantify the relative legacies in situ diversification history (i.e.

Progress on the Application of Polymers of Intrinsic Microporosity for the Adsorption of Organic Contaminants

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
The pictorial illustration of the applications of polymers of intrinsic microporosity extraordinary porous organic polymers with high surface areas, pore radii, pore volumes, high permeability, high diffusivity, high selectivity, and high thermal stability, as suitable filters or purifiers for water contaminated with pharmaceutical and organic dyes ...

Ecological speciation in Senecio lautus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The role of natural selection in driving speciation between interbreeding populations has been one of the most controversial topics in evolutionary biology. Populations that inhabit contrasting environments can evolve adaptive traits in the local habitat that can reproductively isolate them.

Negative global-scale association between genetic diversity and speciation rates in mammals

open access: yesNature Communications
Genetic diversity is critical for species evolution and their adaptability to global changes, while speciation rate is critical for explaining large-scale patterns of species richness. Exploring correlates of variation in genetic diversity and speciation
