Modeling the thermal behavior of biosphere 2 in a non-controlled environment using bond graphs [PDF]
Biosphere 2 is a closed ecological system of high complexity built to deepen the understanding of ecological systems, to study the dynamics of closed ecologies, and to learn to control their behavior.

Spatially-constrained clustering of ecological networks
Spatial ecological networks are widely used to model interactions between georeferenced biological entities (e.g., populations or communities). The analysis of such data often leads to a two-step approach where groups containing similar biological ...

Ecological Studies on the Feeding of Fishes-VIII
It has been found1) that the daily ration changes with frequency of feeding. From this it is natural to presume that the growth of fish changes with the frequency of feeding. In the present investigation, the relationship between the frequency of feeding and the growth is examined and the optimum frequency of feeding which produces maximum growth is ...

Closed‐loop Recycling of Sulfide Solid Electrolytes from Spent Solid‐State Sodium Batteries
Closed‐loop recycling of sulfide solid electrolyte via a mild dissolution–recrystallization–thermal treatment process enables efficient recovery from spent all‐solid‐state sodium batteries. The regenerated material preserves the crystal structure, local coordination, and chemical states, maintaining high ionic conductivity, reduced interfacial ...

Ecologic variables, ecologic studies, and multilevel studies in public health research [PDF]
Abstract This chapter reviews the use of ecologic variables, ecologic studies, and multilevel studies in epidemiology and public health. It begins with a discussion of the ecologic fallacy and the sources of the ecologic fallacy, placing it in the context of other fallacies related to the presence of multiple levels of organization ...

Pattern Formation in Non‐Equilibrium Architected Materials
This article demonstrates an artificial mechanical system ‐ a robotic metamaterial ‐ as an accessible and versatile platform within which to explore and prescribe the reaction‐diffusion driven pattern formation hitherto associated with comparatively less accessible and versatile non‐equilibrium biological and chemical systems.

Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.
