Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

The Economic Crisis is a Crisis for Economic Theory [PDF]

open access: yesCESifo Economic Studies, 2010
The world has recently been shaken by an upheaval in the financial sector comparable to that of 1929. These events in world financial markets have, to say the least, given economists pause for reflection. It is worth giving a schematic account of the unfolding of this crisis to see how it can be reconciled with standard economic theory or whether a ...

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Reserve price signaling

open access: yes, 2007
In a general auction model in which bidders' signals are affiliated, we characterize the unique separating equilibrium in which the seller can use reserve prices to credibly signal her private information.

Economics of information and the theory of economic development [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Review of Econometrics, 1985
This paper shows how recent developments in the economics of information can provide insights into economic relations in less developed countries, and how they can provide explanations for institutions which, in neoclassical theory, appear anomalous and/or inefficient.
