FAM20C Modulates Neuronal Differentiation in Hypoxic–Ischemic Brain Damage via KAP1 Phosphorylation and LINE1 RNA m6A‐Dependent H3K9me3 Regulation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
FAM20C regulates the composition of the YTHDC1‐NCL‐KAP1‐LINE1 RNAs complex, thereby affecting neuronal differentiation in hypoxic–ischemic brain damage (HIBD). ABSTRACT Neurodevelopmental impairment due to hypoxic–ischemic brain damage (HIBD) lacks effective biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Interaction of TFAP2A with the Ku70/80 complex is crucial for HIF‐dependent activation of hypoxia‐inducible genes

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Under normoxic conditions, the SUMOylated fraction of TFAP2A cannot interact with the Ku70/Ku80 complex, nor it can bind to chromatin. The unSUMOylated fraction pre‐occupies the chromatin of a subset of hypoxia‐induced genes together with the Ku70/Ku80 complex for basal euchromatin formation. Under hypoxic conditions, the SUMOylation equilibrium shifts

Mammalian TatD DNase domain containing 1 (TATDN1) is a proteostasis‐responsive gene with roles in ventricular structure and neuromuscular function

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Twin‐arginine translocation D (TatD) homologs are found across all kingdoms, with debated roles in DNA degradation and protein quality control in unicellular organisms. We characterize TATDN1, the mammalian TatD orthologue, as a proteostatic stress‐responsive cytosolic protein dispensable for DNA degradation.

Evidences for balancing selection from PAH-BglII and PAH-EcoRI polymorphisms in Isfahan population

open access: yesتاکسونومی و بیوسیستماتیک, 2010
Two polymorphic markers including BglII and EcoRI, were identified at intron 1 and intron 5 of PAH gene. In order to test whether these polymorphisms are behaving as neutral alleles or are being subjected to selective pressures in Isfahan population, 110

Detection of Russian olive witches’-broom disease and its insect vector in Northwestern Iran

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2017
Recently, Russian olive trees showing witches’-broom and little leaf symptoms have been widely observed in northwestern and central Iran. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and nested PCR assays using phytoplasma universal primer pairs confirmed phytoplasma

Conserved function of a RasGEF‐mediated pathway in the metabolic compensation of the circadian clock

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Metabolic compensation of the circadian clock is essential for stabilizing the period of endogenous timekeeping in environments with significant nutrient fluctuations. In this study, we demonstrate that RasGEF (SOS1)‐mediated signaling, which is influenced by metabolic conditions, supports the robust function of the circadian clock under low glucose ...

Zic family member 5 promotes RIO kinase 3 expression to enhance pancreatic cancer survival

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that targeting ZIC5 increases gemcitabine sensitivity and induces pancreatic cancer shrinkage in vivo. The findings also show that ALDH3B1, PTGES, and TUFT1, the downstream genes of ZIC5, contribute to gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer cells.
