Kinked DNA in crystalline complex with EcoRI endonuclease
Nature, 1984The 3 A electron density map of a co-crystalline recognition complex between EcoRI endonuclease and the oligonucleotide TCGCGAATTCGCG reveals that a tight, complementary interface between the enzyme and the major groove of the DNA is the major determinant of sequence specificity.

EcoRI DNA methyltransferase-DNA interactions
Biochemistry, 1992We present a novel strategy with synthetic hemimethylated DNA substrates containing uracil for thymine and inosine for guanosine replacements and EcoRI DNA methyltransferase to characterize the importance of major groove hydrophobic groups to the sequence-specific modification of DNA.

Oriented immobilization of restriction endonuclease ecori
Journal of Molecular Recognition, 1996Two activated matrices have been developed to determine whether immobilization chemistry can be used to orient proteins on a support. Restriction endonuclease EcoRI from Escherichia coli RY13 (E.C.3.1.23.13) was used as a model in these studies. Thiol-activated Sephadex G-10 was used to couple the EcoRI endonuclease through its free sulfhydryl, while ...

EcoRI-sensitive mutation of T7 phage
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1977It is known that DNA from phage T7 is not cleaved by restriction endonuclease EcoRI. However, DNA from phage T7am28 (gene 5) mutant (Studier, 1969) was found to be cleaved by the endonuclease at one site. The site is located at 0.46 fractional length from the left end of the molecule.

Temperature-sensitive mutants of the EcoRI endonuclease
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1997The EcoRI endonuclease is an important recombinant DNA tool and a paradigm of sequence-specific DNA-protein interactions. We have isolated temperature-sensitive (TS) EcoRI endonuclease mutants (R56Q, G78D, P90S, V97I, R105K, M157I, C218Y, A235E, M255I, T261I and L263F) and characterized activity in vivo and in vitro.

RFLP Standardization Report for DQ Beta/EcoRI
1989The DQ beta/EcoRI system identified 13 fragments in the core cell lines (Fig. 1). Locus assignments in this system (Table 1) showed fragments 1,2,4,5,6,10, & 13 to be DQB specific, the remaining fragments cross-hybridizing with both DRB and DPB (Table 3 in the DR Beta/EcoRI report).
