The bacterial Type VI secretion system (T6SS) emerges as a sophisticated virulence mechanism, leveraging the dual‐function effector TkeA from Yersinia pseudotuberculosis. TkeA concurrently damages rival bacteria and host cell DNA, triggering the host's cGAS‐STING‐TNF pathway and inducing apoptosis.

Substrate dependence of the mechanism of EcoRI endonuclease
The mechanism of EcoRI endonuclease is substrate dependent. At 37 degrees dissociation of the enzyme-Form II DNA intermediates of ColE1 DNA and bacteriophage G4 RFI DNA is negligible. Therefore, both DNA strands with in the EcoRI sequence are cleaved during a single binding event.

To classify Listeria monocytogenes using taxonomic characters derived from the rRNA operons and their flanking sequences, we studied a sample of 1346 strains within the taxon. DNA from each strain was digested with a restriction endonuclease, EcoRI.

EFTUD2 Regulates Cortical Morphogenesis via Modulation of Caspase‐3 and Aifm1 Splicing Pathways
EFTUD2, a spliceosomal GTPase linked to MFDM, regulates cortical development through apoptotic control. Conditional Eftud2 knockout in murine neural stem cells induces microcephaly and cortical disorganization, while pathogenic variants drive neuronal loss.

βFaar selectively targets and inhibits the GTPase activity of the RAB18 protein, thereby reducing LD volume. Conversely, βFaar promotes nuclear translocation of the transcription factor IRF4 in inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT), facilitating the browning of white adipose tissue and attenuating body fat accumulation.

The AMP‐induced mutant Staphylococcus aureus strain nzR showed increased resistance, five gene mutations, and decreased surface anion levels. AMPs affect the NDH‐2 protein encoded by ndh gene inhibiting the growth of S. aureus. The deletion of the ndh gene promotes the development of AMPs resistance.

Whole-genome single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) marker discovery and association analysis with the eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) content in Larimichthys crocea [PDF]
Whole-genome single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers are valuable genetic resources for the association and conservation studies. Genome-wide SNP development in many teleost species are still challenging because of the genome complexity and the cost

Myomaker and Myomixer are required for craniofacial myoblast fusion in zebrafish
Abstract Background Craniofacial and trunk skeletal muscles are derived from different progenitor populations during development. Trunk skeletal muscles contain mostly multinucleated myofibers that are formed through myoblast fusion. However, myoblast fusion in craniofacial muscles and its molecular regulation are not well understood.
