Caracterización fenotípica y molecular de poblaciones de zacate punta blanca (Digitaria californica (Benth.) Henr.)

Analysis of DNA methylation in various swine tissues. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
DNA methylation is known to play an important role in regulating gene expression during biological development and tissue differentiation in eukaryotes. In this study, we used the fluorescence-labeled methylation-sensitive amplified polymorphism (F-MSAP)

Analysis of Benzoate 1,2‐Dioxygenase Identifies Shared Electron Transfer Components With DxnA1A2 in Rhizorhabdus wittichii RW1

open access: yesJournal of Basic Microbiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rhizorhabdus wittichii RW1 is known for its ability to degrade polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, such as dibenzo‐p‐dioxin (DD) and dibenzofuran (DF). We hypothesized that the R. wittichii RW1 benzoate 1,2‐dioxygenase shares electron transfer components with the DD/DF angular dioxygenase (DxnA1A2), similar to many aromatic hydrocarbon degrading

Modification of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rh-EGF) expression vector by site-directed mutagenesis for therapeutic protein production

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2019
Recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rh-EGF) has high value in therapies for h-EGF deficiency-related diseases. The expression of the h-EGF gene was designed by using the pET21b(+) vector and Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) as the expression host.

Facilitated distortion of the DNA site enhances EcoRI endonuclease-DNA recognition.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1993
We have measured the binding of EcoRI endonuclease to a complete set of purine-base analogue sites, each of which deletes one functional group that forms a hydrogen bond with the endonuclease in the canonical GAATTC complex.

Efficient Synthesis of Steroidal Intermediates with a C17 Side Chain from Phytosterols by Genetically Modified Mycolicibacterium neoaurum NRRL B‐3805 Strain

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Two genetically modified strains are designed and constructed to produce 22‐hydroxy‐23,24‐bisnorchol‐4‐ene‐3‐one (4‐HBC) and 3‐oxo‐4,17‐pregnadiene‐20‐carboxylic acid methyl ester (PDCE) by disrupting and overexpressing the aldolase gene (thl) in the genetically modified strains of Mycolicibacterium neoaurum NRRL B‐3805, respectively, which are useful ...

A Dodecapeptide Comprising the Extended Chain-α4 Region of the Restriction Endonuclease EcoRI Specifically Binds to the EcoRI Recognition Site [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1995
The restriction endonuclease EcoRI binds and cleaves DNA containing GAATTC sequences with high specificity. According to the crystal structure, most of the specific contacts of the enzyme to the DNA are formed by the extended chain region and the first turn of alpha-helix alpha 4 (amino acids 137-145).

Programmable Protein‐DNA Composite Nanostructures: from Nanostructure Construction to Protein‐Induced Micro‐Scale Material Self‐Assembly and Functionalization

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study presents a modular platform that integrates engineered proteins with DNA nanostructures to create dynamic, multifunctional materials. By combining orthogonal protein‐protein and protein‐DNA conjugation strategies, the authors demonstrate controlled self‐assembly into nanofibers and nanorods, along with reversible enzyme activation.

Modulating Restriction Endonuclease Activities and Specificities Using Neutral Detergents

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1999
It is well known that type II restriction enzyme activities and specificities can be modulated by altering solution conditions. The addition of co-solvents such as dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), alcohols and polyols can promote star activity, which is the ...

A new EcoRI polymorphism for the insulin receptor gene

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1989
A 550 bp BamHI-Pst I fragment encompassing bp 1,926-2,476 of the human insulin receptor cDNA was obtained. EcoRI identifies a two allele polymorphism, with bands of 5.8 and 5.5 kb. Co-dominant segregation was demonstrated in one Venezuelan pedigree.
