Modelling and testing forest ecosystems condition account
Journal of Environmental Management, 2023We developed an application model based on the System of Environmental Economic Accounting-Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA-EA) framework, endorsed by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2021. This model enables mapping condition accounts for forest ecosystems using automated computation.

Mathematical Biosciences, 1985
A dynamic input-output model of the ecosystem is shown to have stable responses to changes in the net inputs or outputs if a set of preparatory or conditioning flows changes are carried out. These flows are a function of the structure of the ecosystem, the nature of the desired net input or output changes, and the length of the conditioning period.

The environmental condition of an estuarine ecosystem disturbed by pesticides
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2019Knowledge regarding the concentration levels resulting from the use of agricultural pesticides may indicate the nature of the controls necessary to reduce environmental and human health risks to an acceptable level. Therefore, the main goal of the present work was to assess the spatial and temporal occurrence of 35 pesticides in the River Sado estuary (

Realizing ecosystem services: wetland hydrologic function along a gradient of ecosystem condition
Ecological Applications, 2013Wetlands provide numerous ecosystem services, from habitat provision to pollutant removal, floodwater storage, and microclimate regulation. Delivery of particular services relies on specific ecological functions, and thus to varying degree on wetland ecological condition, commonly quantified as departure from minimally impacted reference sites ...

Extreme Anthropogenic Loads and the Northern Ecosystem Condition
Ecological Applications, 1993In the extreme North, the polar region of Siberian Russia, the largest mining and processing enterprises for metallic and nonmetallic ores, coal, oil, and gas are situated. The extremely vulnerable boreal and polar ecosystems of the North are responding adversely to the impact of these activities, and are in danger of collapse because of them.

Ecosystem conditions and plant distributions
1988The incorporation of energy and materials into the bodies of plants composing land ecosystems takes place within a framework of circumstances that are very much conditions of place. We can list the main conditions that influence growth, but are not themselves directly incorporated into the bodies of plants, as heat, soil type, fire, wind and snow cover.

ECOSYSTEM MEASUREMENTS AND ECOSYSTEM MODELING IN CONDITIONS OF UNCERTAINTY
SOFT MEASUREMENTS AND COMPUTINGIf we consider from the perspective of a systematic approach various aggregates of complex objects and subjects united by diverse interrelations within the framework of natural or anthropogenic processes, as well as the environment of their functioning as integral complex systems, then this aggregate will be an ecosystem.
