On cyclotron emission from toroidal plasmas near the ECR heating frequency

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2003
High power electron cyclotron plasma heating in toroidal traps results in the generation of non-Maxwellian electron distribution functions. Electron cyclotron emission (ECE) spectra originating from such distributions in a close vicinity of the heating frequency are investigated analytically based on a simplified kinetic approach.

Features of Fundamental- and Subharmonics ECR Heating in a Magnetic Trap

Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 2002
We compare the efficiency of microwave heating of electrons in a dense plasma at the fundamental harmonics (ω = eH/(mc)) and at the subharmonics (ω = eH/(2mc)) of the electron gyrofrequency. In particular, recent experimental results showing a higher efficiency of microwave heating at the frequency equal to one half of the electron gyrofrequency are ...

Overview of ECR plasma heating experiment in the GDT magnetic mirror

Nuclear Fusion, 2015
This paper summarizes the results of experiments on electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of plasma obtained at the axially symmetric magnetic mirror device gas dynamic trap (GDT) (Budker Institute, Novosibirsk). The main achievement is the demonstration of plasma discharges with extremely high temperatures of bulk electrons.

Microstructural Characteristics of ECR Plasma Etched and Heat Treated Commercial Copper Foil

Macromolecular Symposia, 2023
AbstractThe structural quality of the catalytic transition metal substrate plays a critical role in pristine graphene synthesis by chemical vapor deposition. In this work, the microstructural parameters of commercial copper foils are investigated in lieu of conventional laboratory grade crystalline copper foils.

ECR heating of a dense plasma by helicon waves

Plasma Physics Reports, 2002
Eigenmodes of an axisymmetric plasma column that is uniform along the magnetic field are investigated. It is shown that, as the plasma density increases, eigenmodes with frequencies close to the electron gyrofrequency tend to localize at the plasma periphery.

Ion Heating in an ECR Plasma with a Magnetic Mirror Field

Plasma Science and Technology, 2013
Magnetoelectric heating was used to heat ions in an ECR plasma with a magnetic mirror field. The temperature and density of ions were measured by an ion sensitive probe (ISP) before and after magnetoelectric heating in order to investigate the influence of the anode ring's radius, axial position and working pressure on magnetoelectric heating.

Investigation of Radiofrequency Ion Heating in the magnetoplasma of an ECR ion trap

2019 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2019
The Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Sources (ECRIS) are nowadays the most effective devices to provide relatively intense currents for highly charged ions devoted to particle accelerators for nuclear science and applications. In ECRIS, the main mechanism of microwave-to-electrons energy transfer is the Electron Cyclotron Resonance heating, when ...
