ECR heating of a dense plasma by helicon waves
Plasma Physics Reports, 2002Eigenmodes of an axisymmetric plasma column that is uniform along the magnetic field are investigated. It is shown that, as the plasma density increases, eigenmodes with frequencies close to the electron gyrofrequency tend to localize at the plasma periphery.

Ion Heating in an ECR Plasma with a Magnetic Mirror Field
Plasma Science and Technology, 2013Magnetoelectric heating was used to heat ions in an ECR plasma with a magnetic mirror field. The temperature and density of ions were measured by an ion sensitive probe (ISP) before and after magnetoelectric heating in order to investigate the influence of the anode ring's radius, axial position and working pressure on magnetoelectric heating.

Investigation of Radiofrequency Ion Heating in the magnetoplasma of an ECR ion trap
2019 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications (ICEAA), 2019The Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Sources (ECRIS) are nowadays the most effective devices to provide relatively intense currents for highly charged ions devoted to particle accelerators for nuclear science and applications. In ECRIS, the main mechanism of microwave-to-electrons energy transfer is the Electron Cyclotron Resonance heating, when ...

A progress report on ECR heating and current drive in tokamaks
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1987Plasma heating at the electron cyclotron resonance and its harmonics has provided a range of important results in tokamaks, stellarators and mirror machines although only tokamaks are considered here. The ability to heat the electrons locally has enabled Te profile control, m=1 and m=2 mode stabilisation and heat transport to be studied. At high powers

Investigation on Dual Frequency Heating on an ECR Ion Source
The use of dual frequency heating in electron cyclotron resonance ion sources has proven to be an advanced method of plasma generation. By enabling higher energy transfer and better power coupling into the plasma, dual frequency heating allows for the creation of higher charge states as well as increased beam current generation and increased current ...openaire +1 more source
