Study of carbon pellet ablation in ECR-heated W7-AS plasmas

Nuclear Fusion, 2004
The ablation of carbon pellets injected into ECR-heated plasmas of Wendelstein 7-AS (W7-AS) has been investigated using a photographic technique with the aim of studying features of the ablation process in stellarator plasmas. The ablation rate profiles were measured assuming a proportionality of the C II radiation and the ablation rate.

Experimental study of single- vs two-close-frequency heating impact on confinement and loss dynamics in ECR ion source plasmas by means of x-ray spectroscopy and imaging

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2021
We hereby report a study on confinement and electron loss dynamics in the magnetic trap of an electron cyclotron resonance ion source using a special multi-diagnostic setup that has allowed the simultaneous collection of plasma radio-self-emission and x ...

Hot Electron Ring Formation in ECR Heated Plasma

Communications in Theoretical Physics, 1989
Energetic particles can be .generated by electron cyclotron resonant heating (ECRH) in tokamak plasma, forming electron ring. The bounce frequency is taken into account in resonance condition. The electron energy is limited by detaching of the adjacent overlapped islands. An analytical criterion for transition is obtained.

Various Parameter Measurements in Single-Frequency Dual-ECR Heating on Electron Cyclotron Resonance Ion Source

Journal of Physics: Conference Series
We have been researching efficient generation of multi-charged ions on electron cyclotron resonance ion source (ECRIS). We can introduce microwaves from a coaxial antenna at the upstream side of the magnetic mirror field (Coaxial) and a rod antenna at ...

Cost-Effective Microwave Assisted ECR Heating Using Combination of Quasi-Locked Low-Power Magnetrons on GLAST-III

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science
Glass spherical tokamak-III (GLAST-III) is a small spherical tokamak ( $R =20$ cm, $a =10$ cm, and $A =2$ ) developed at Pakistan Tokamak Plasma Research Institute (PTPRI).

Transport analysis in ohmic and ECR heated plasmas in the RTP tokamak

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 1994
Global and local power balance studies in ohmic and ECR-heated plasmas in the RTP tokamak (R0=0.72 m, a=0.16 m, BT=2.14 T) are reported, and compared with models. In ohmic plasmas the energy confinement time is consistent with the Goldston-ohmic scaling law. Using ECRH, high Te and Del Te are obtained.

On cyclotron emission from toroidal plasmas near the ECR heating frequency

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2003
High power electron cyclotron plasma heating in toroidal traps results in the generation of non-Maxwellian electron distribution functions. Electron cyclotron emission (ECE) spectra originating from such distributions in a close vicinity of the heating frequency are investigated analytically based on a simplified kinetic approach.

Features of Fundamental- and Subharmonics ECR Heating in a Magnetic Trap

Radiophysics and Quantum Electronics, 2002
We compare the efficiency of microwave heating of electrons in a dense plasma at the fundamental harmonics (ω = eH/(mc)) and at the subharmonics (ω = eH/(2mc)) of the electron gyrofrequency. In particular, recent experimental results showing a higher efficiency of microwave heating at the frequency equal to one half of the electron gyrofrequency are ...

Overview of ECR plasma heating experiment in the GDT magnetic mirror

Nuclear Fusion, 2015
This paper summarizes the results of experiments on electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) of plasma obtained at the axially symmetric magnetic mirror device gas dynamic trap (GDT) (Budker Institute, Novosibirsk). The main achievement is the demonstration of plasma discharges with extremely high temperatures of bulk electrons.

Microstructural Characteristics of ECR Plasma Etched and Heat Treated Commercial Copper Foil

Macromolecular Symposia, 2023
AbstractThe structural quality of the catalytic transition metal substrate plays a critical role in pristine graphene synthesis by chemical vapor deposition. In this work, the microstructural parameters of commercial copper foils are investigated in lieu of conventional laboratory grade crystalline copper foils.
