Prevalence, Species Composition and Associated Factors of Ectoparasite Infestations in Dogs in Isfahan, Central Iran. [PDF]

Ectoparasite infestation was detected in 39.13% of 138 examined dogs in Isfahan, Iran. Ticks were the most prevalent (57.4%), followed by mites (25.9%), fleas (11.1%) and lice (5.6%). Infestation rates showed significant differences according to sex and age (p < 0.05), with the highest prevalence observed in spring.
