Airway Involvement in Conradi–Hünermann–Happle Syndrome: A Novel Clinical Manifestation

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, Volume 136, Issue 7, Page 3240-3245, July 2026.
We report the first documented case of airway involvement in Conradi–Hünermann–Happle syndrome (CDPX2), an X‐linked dominant form of chondrodysplasia punctata caused by pathogenic variants in EBP. A 2‐month‐old female with genetically confirmed CDPX2 developed severe subglottic stenosis and persistent respiratory distress requiring CPAP; cross ...

Mapping the murine TMJ glenoid fossa over development, homeostasis and in response to disease

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 1, Page 85-96, July 2026.
The fibrocartilage of the murine glenoid fossa and condyle of the temporomandibular joint are shown to form at distinct times with distinct molecular identities. Changes in the condyle during disease lead to remodelling of the fossa to maintain joint alignment.

Blocking neuromuscular junctions with botulinum toxin A injection enhances neurological heterotopic ossification development after spinal cord injury in mice

open access: yes, 2019
Dear Editor, Neurogenic heterotopic ossifications (NHOs) are benign ectopic bones that develop within the muscle tissue surrounding extracapsular bone joints [1] after severe lesions of the central nervous system (CNS) such as spinal cord injury (SCI) or

Ectopic implantation of juvenile osteochondral tissues recapitulates endochondral ossification [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, 2017
Subcutaneous implantation in a mouse can be used to investigate tissue maturation in vivo. Here we demonstrate that this simple model can recapitulate endochondral ossification associated with native skeletal development. By histological and micro-computed tomography analysis we investigated morphological changes of immature bovine osteochondral ...

Clinical and Radiologic Outcomes of NOVOSIS (rhBMP‐2 With Hydroxyapatite Carrier) Grafting for Scaphoid Waist Nonunion: A Preliminary Clinical Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 7, Page 1350-1358, July 2026.
NOVOSIS (rhBMP‐2 with hydroxyapatite carrier) grafting filled the scaphoid waist defect and promoted bone union after double headless screw fixation, offering a feasible alternative to autologous bone grafting. ABSTRACT Objective Scaphoid nonunion remains a challenging problem due to limited vascularity and carpal malalignment. Although autologous bone

Self‐Assembled Nanoclay Gel With Spheroid MSC‐Derived Exosome Mimetics to Integrate Demineralized Bone Matrix and Noggin‐Targeting miRNA for Synergistic Osteogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 45, 5 June 2026.
We report a versatile nanoclay gel carrier platform that enhances the osteogenic efficacy of demineralized bone matrix (DBM) by integrating nanoclay‐based self‐assembly with cell‐derived exosome mimetics loaded with noggin‐targeting miR‐200c. This design amplifies BMP signaling, thereby promoting DBM‐mediated osteogenesis and offering a promising ...

Synchronizing the Osteochondral Regeneration Process through Spatial Patterning of Stable and Hypertrophic Cartilage Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 33, 12 June 2026.
Zonated osteochondral assembloid implants are engineered through scaffold‐free spatial assembly of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)‐derived chondrocyte organoids and periosteum‐derived osteogenic organoids. Implanted into full‐thickness rat osteochondral defects, they promote hyaline‐like cartilage repair, support subchondral bone formation with ...

Characterization of the signaling pathways leading to ectopic osteogenesis after spinal cord injury in a mouse model of neurogenic heterotopic ossification

open access: yes, 2021
La morbi-mortalité associée aux lésions vertébro-médullaires traumatiques (SCI) reste significative malgré les progrès réalisés en matière de prise en charge médicale et rééducative.

Inflammatory Neovascularization and Vascular Remodeling Associated With Carotid Plaque Destabilization

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
A subset of endothelial cells in the AC region promoted neovascularization, while the PA region exhibited an increase in osteogenic VSMCs, contributing to vascular remodeling. Fibroblast‐mediated inflammatory regulation was predominantly enriched in the PA region, whereas the AC region harbored more macrophage subsets involved in lipid metabolism and ...

Chondrocyte Phenotype and Ectopic Ossification in Collagenase-induced Tendon Degeneration [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 2008
We report chondrocyte phenotype and ectopic ossification in a collagenase-induced patellar tendon injury model. Collagenase or saline was injected intratendinously in one limb. The patella tendon was harvested for assessment at different times.
