Level-Based Analysis of the Population-Based Incremental Learning Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Population-Based Incremental Learning (PBIL) algorithm uses a convex combination of the current model and the empirical model to construct the next model, which is then sampled to generate offspring.

Illustrative Comparison of MCML and CMOS Design Techniques using Tanner EDA

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computer Applications, 2015
In this paper, a comparison is done between MOS Current Mode Logic (MCML) and Complementary metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) circuits operating in low power application. It is found that MCML logic circuits exhibit a decrease in delay and so decrease in overall power delay product compared with CMOS circuits.

Research on the Teaching of Integrating EDA Technology into Digital Electronic Technique [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2016 International Conference on Education, E-learning and Management Technology, 2016
EDA Technology is in the ascendant which performs more and more important functions of the higher education of electricity. A comparatively integrated teaching system connecting the theory about practice has been established though introducing EDA into the course of Digital Electronic Technique.

Enhancing Failure Mode and Effect Analysis with Neutrosophic Inverse Soft Expert Sets [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems, 2023
In this study, we introduce a novel concept, the Neutrosophic Inverse Soft Expert Set (NISES), and apply it to the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) framework. Developed by NASA, FMEA is a robust tool for addressing industrial challenges.

Multimodal estimation of distribution algorithms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Taking the advantage of estimation of distribution algorithms (EDAs) in preserving high diversity, this paper proposes a multimodal EDA. Integrated with clustering strategies for crowding and speciation, two versions of this algorithm are developed ...

A Mathematical Modelling Technique for the Analysis of the Dynamics of a Simple Continuous EDA [PDF]

open access: yes2006 IEEE International Conference on Evolutionary Computation, 2006
We describe a mathematical model for the infinite-population dynamics of a simple continuous EDA: UMDAc. Using this model, it is possible to numerically generate the dynamics of the algorithm on a fitness function of known form. The technique is compared with existing analysis and illustrated on a number of simple test problems.

A New EDA with Dimension Reduction Technique for Large Scale Many-Objective Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The performance of many-objective evolutionary algorithms deteriorates appreciably in solving large-scale many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs) which encompass more than hundreds variables. One of the known rationales is the curse of dimensionality.
