Starving for Data: Eating Disorders Prevalence and Research Gaps in Southern Africa

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Studies reporting prevalence estimates of eating disorders in Southern Africa are scarce. To fill this gap, the present Research Forum reviews existing literature on the prevalence of eating disorders, including as assessed by clinical interviews, screeners, and self‐reported behaviors, among individuals in Southern Africa.

The Relationship Between Premorbid Weight Status and Eating Disorder Onset in Adolescents: A Longitudinal Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Adolescents with higher weight status (HWS; body mass index > 85th percentile adjusted for age and sex) are at greater risk of eating disorders (ED). This study examined factors associated with HWS adolescents' increased risk and how weight status interacts with other risk factors to influence ED onset. Method Australian adolescents (

Co‐Producing the Transition to Eating Disorder Youth Intervention: Experience‐Based Co‐Design Workshops Supporting Young People in Transition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Eating disorders (EDs) are severe and complex psychiatric illnesses, with adolescence and young adulthood representing particularly vulnerable periods for onset, relapse and disruptions in treatment. The transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS) is especially complex ...

Trends in marine species distribution models: a review of methodological advances and future challenges

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Correlative species distribution models (SDMs) are quantitative tools in biogeography and macroecology. Building upon the ecological niche concept, they correlate environmental covariates to species presence to model habitat suitability and predict species distributions.

Non‐stationary forest responses to hotter droughts: a temporal perspective considering the role of past legacies

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Global change is altering forests worldwide, with multiple consequences for ecosystem functioning. Temporal changes in climate, and extreme, compounded weather events like hotter droughts are affecting the demography, composition and function of forests, leading to a highly uncertain future.

Superionic Conduction Through Lattice Engineering of Fluorites Stabilizing Periodic Oxygen Vacancy Network

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Lattice‐engineered fluorite oxide with periodic oxygen vacancy network achieves superionic conduction, Ce4+–Al3+ fluorite cation ordering enables dielectric‐enhanced superionic conduction, surpassing the limitations of conventional doped electrolytes and high fuel cell performance at low temperature through a flattened energy landscape.
