From net sink to episodic source: Seasonal dissolved inorganic carbon budget in an intertidal basin

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The back‐barrier basin of Spiekeroog in the East Frisian Wadden Sea is a biogeochemically dynamic intertidal system that plays a key role in regulating coastal carbon fluxes and regional dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) budgets. Compared to total alkalinity, DIC fluxes in this region remain poorly quantified, limiting a comprehensive ...

Design of an 8‐Channel Transmit 32‐Channel Receive 11.7T Head Coil and Evaluation of SNR Gains

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 4, Page 2004-2018, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To design and develop an 8‐channel transmit 32‐channel receive 11.7T head coil for the strongest human MRI scanner to date, demonstrate safety, and evaluate signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR) gains compared to 7T, the most used ultra‐high‐field (UHF) platform.

Double DANTE‐PRESS: Development of a 1H‐MRS Multifrequency‐Selective Sequence for Simultaneous In Vivo Quantification of Glutathione and Glutamate at 7 Tesla

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 10, October 2026.
A single‐shot, multifrequency‐selective 1H‐MRS technique known as double Delays‐Alternating‐Nutation‐Tailored‐Excitation‐Point RESolved‐Spectroscopy (DANTE‐PRESS) can selectively refocus two frequencies of interest and simplify spectral modeling. ABSTRACT Glutamate and glutathione share a complex and tightly regulated cycle where imbalances can be a ...

The Iseult Coil, a Hybrid RF Coil for the First Human Brain Images at 11.7 T: Receive Performance Comparison With a Twin Coil at 7 T

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 10, October 2026.
Our 8‐Tx/32‐Rx coil is based on two rows of transceiver microstrips intertwined with receive‐only loops. Comparison of the intrinsic SNR at 7 and 11.7 T leads to a 2.2 ratio for the human brain, and 2.75 for a 16‐cm agar sphere, translating into α = 1.5 and 1.95 in the B0α$$ {B}_0^{\alpha } $$‐SNR model, respectively.
