Impacts of Different Averaging Intervals on CO2 Flux Calculation in a Moso Bamboo Forest

open access: yesAtmosphere
The eddy covariance technique has become one of the most popular methods for measuring CO2 exchange between ecosystems and the atmosphere. Flux averaging intervals typically range from 15 to 60 min, with 30 min being the most commonly adopted setting ...

Retinal neurovascular alterations are associated with optic radiation microstructure in adrenomyeloneuropathy: A susceptibility separation MRI study

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
In a cross‐sectional cohort of 104 participants, 7 T susceptibility separation MRI and diffusion imaging were combined with retinal imaging and visual evoked potentials to characterize visual pathway involvement in adrenomyeloneuropathy (AMN). Absolute diamagnetic susceptibility, a myelin‐associated measure, and fractional anisotropy (FA) showed ...

Refining the Vertebrate Mitochondrial 12S rRNA Secondary Structure by Comparative Analysis

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
This flowchart outlines the comprehensive workflow of the study, integrating diverse bioinformatics tools (e.g., NCBI2GO, SSU‐align, bpRNA) and their sequential interactions. Key steps, such as data preprocessing, structural prediction, and evolutionary analysis, are depicted with their respective outputs (e.g., standardized records, consensus ...

Style Brush: Guided Style Transfer for 3D Objects

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We introduce Style Brush, a guided 3D style‐transfer method for textured meshes that provides precise creative control. It supports the use of multiple style images, smooth transitions and intuitive guidance, producing visually appealing textures that follow user intent as we demonstrate in our user study and results. Abstract We introduce Style Brush,

The big impact of small change: Fresh estimates of English wheat market integration, 1693–1893

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract Using existing and new price data sets, we provide the first estimates of market integration across England over the entire 200 years of the industrial revolution. We document a significant, though not huge, integration improvement for markets furthest from London. Full integration was achieved by the 1830s. Our price data sets vary in quality

The assessment of water vapour and carbon dioxide fluxes above arable crops A comparison of methods

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2005
Vertical fluxes of water vapour and carbon dioxide obtained from gradient, eddy covariance (closed and open path systems) and chamber measurements above arable crops were compared with the directly measured energy balance and the harvested net biomass ...

Understanding Stress in Undergraduate Dental Education Through Student Perspectives: A Mixed‐Methods Study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Dental students experience high levels of stress, which may negatively affect wellbeing, learning and clinical performance. Although stress in dental education is well documented, fewer studies have explored students' perspectives alongside their views on educational practices using mixed‐methods approaches.

Large eddy simulation of near-surface boundary layer dynamics over patchy snow

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The near-surface boundary layer over patchy snow is highly heterogeneous and dynamic. Layers of opposing stability coexist within only a few horizontal meters. Conventional experimental methods to investigate this layer suffer from limitations related to

Relationships Between Oceanic Primary Production, Human Habitation and Variation in the Life‐History Traits of Coral Reef Fishes Across the Northern Line Islands

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biophysical processes associated with large‐scale nearshore oceanographic upwelling can influence coral reef communities by increasing the delivery of nutrient subsidies and food resources to reefs. However, these processes occur alongside anthropogenic activities that may alter ecological patterns across coral reef ecosystems.

A New Approach to Transforming Airborne Electromagnetic Data into Models of Sediment Type

open access: yesGroundwater, EarlyView.
A new methodology provides the relationship needed to transform electrical resistivity measurements from airborne electromagnetic surveys to sediment type. By accounting for the physics of the measurement and the quality of the driller's logs used in developing the transform, the method improves the accuracy of derived sediment type models.
