The Importance of Snow Sublimation on a Himalayan Glacier
Snow sublimation is a loss of water from the snowpack to the atmosphere. So far, snow sublimation has remained unquantified in the Himalaya, prohibiting a full understanding of the water balance and glacier mass balance. Hence, we measured surface latent

Calibration of home-made heat dissipation probes for a full rotation of Eucalyptus grandis trees in Brazil [PDF]
With the aim of proposing an appropriate calibration equation that could be used for Eucalyptus grandis of any size over a rotation of seven years, we carried out direct measurements of water consumption for 3 trees at 19, 45, 54 and 72 months after ...

High-latitude eddy covariance temporal network design and optimization.
Ecosystems at high latitudes are under increasing stress from climate change. To understand changes in carbon fluxes, in situ measurements from eddy covariance networks are needed. However, there are large spatiotemporal gaps in the high-latitude eddy covariance network.

Distinct Brain Drivers and Shared Cerebello–Cortical Input in ADCY5 and SGCE Hyperkinetic Movements
Resting‐state fMRI and effective connectivity revealed distinct cerebellar–basal ganglia–cortical interactions in ADCY5 (MxMD‐ADCY5) and SGCE (MYC/DYT‐SGCE) related movement disorders. The cerebellum modulated cortex directly in MYC/DYT‐SGCE, but indirectly via basal ganglia‐cerebellar projections in MxMD‐ADCY5, which also showed reduced subthalamic ...

Eddy-covariance CO2 fluxes over Itaipu lake, southern Brazil
In this work, we present CO2, latent heat and sensible heat fluxes measured over the reservoir of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant (Paraná State, Brazil) during 2013.

ABSTRACT Purpose In diffusion MRI, vasogenic edema manifests as a major fraction of isotropic water that dilutes the anisotropic intra‐axonal portion of the signal. Many tractography algorithms mistake vasogenic edema for the white matter boundary and terminate tracking to prevent producing spurious streamlines.

Urban Eddy Covariance – The INFLUX Network
Abstract. The eddy covariance method is used by various disciplines to measure surface-atmosphere fluxes of both vector and scalar quantities. However, eddy covariance observations are uncommon in urban areas. One of the few long-term and ongoing urban flux experiments is the Indianapolis Flux Experiment (INFLUX), which has successfully deployed eddy ...

Artificial intelligence and Eddy covariance: A review
The Eddy Covariance (EC) method allows for monitoring carbon, water, and energy fluxes between Earth's surface and atmosphere. Due to its varying interdependent data streams and abundance of data as a whole, EC is naturally suited to Artificial Intelligence (AI) approaches.

A pilot variational coupled reanalysis based on the CESAM climate model
Variational data assimilation of in‐situ and satellite ocean data and reanalysis atmospheric data into an intermediate complexity Earth system model is possible by adjusting the surface fluxes and internal model parameters. This pilot application requires nearly complete information on the atmospheric state for synchronization.
