Eddy Impacts on the Florida Current

open access: yes, 2013
The Gulf Stream in the Atlantic carries warm water northwards and forms both the return closure of the subtropical gyre as well as the upper limb of the meridional overturning circulation.

Physical and chemical signatures of a developing anticyclonic eddy in the Leeuwin Current, eastern Indian Ocean [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A multidisciplinary cruise aboard the R/V Southern Surveyor was conducted in May 2006 to sample a developing anticyclonic eddy of the Leeuwin Current off Western Australia.

Influence of Eddy Current Loss on Electromagnetic Field and Temperature Field of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Generator With the Toroidal Windings

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The toroidal windings can shorten the axial length of the machine, so it is widely used in high-speed permanent magnet machine. However, under high-frequency operation, the magnetic flux leakage generated by the toroidal windings can cause a lot of eddy ...

Comparative Analysis of Thermodynamic Characteristics of Permanent Magnet and Electromagnetic Eddy Current Braking

open access: yes机车电传动, 2020
Electromagnetic eddy current braking devices often used in high-speed trains due to the advantages of not being limited by train adhesion and low attenuation.

Scanning the steel 08G2B using superminiature eddy current probe [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
The article describes a hardware and software complex designed for defectoscopy and study of material properties. Sections of high-strength steel 08G2B pipes were scanned in the course of the research. The purpose of this study is to determine dependency

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

The interaction efficiency evaluation between defect and eddy current induced by different exciting coils of planar eddy current probe

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2020
This paper presents a quantitative evaluation index efficiency of eddy current and defect interaction to evaluate the eddy current distribution induced by different planar eddy current probe.

Comparison of defect detection limits in Lorentz force eddy current testing and classical eddy current testing [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sensors and Sensor Systems, 2018
Lorentz force eddy current testing (LET) is a motion-induced eddy current testing method in the framework of nondestructive testing. In this study, we address the question of how this method is classified in comparison with a commercial eddy current ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Rotor eddy-current loss in permanent magnet brushless machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents an analysis of the rotor eddy-current loss in modular and conventional topologies of permanent magnet brushless machine. The loss is evaluated both analytically and by time-stepped finite-element analysis, and it is shown that it can ...
