Characterization of an eddy-current-based system for nondestructive testing
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2002A low-cost probe for nondestructive testing of conductive materials was set up and tested. It is based on the measurement of the magnetic field produced by eddy currents (ECs) and perturbed by the presence of cracks. The magnetic sensor used, characterized by the authors in a previous work, gives an output that, suitably processed, allow both the ...

THE TOUCH METHOD OF EDDY-CURRENT TESTING
Nondestructive Testing Communications, 1987Abstract The eddy-current touch method of crack detection can size cracks from the changes in the characteristics of the lift-off curves. Results obtained for mild steel samples show accuracies better than those obtained with the ACPD method for crack depths of 5 mm and less.

Electrical Test Methods (Eddy Current Testing)
1988The basic principle underlying the electrical test methods is that electrical eddy currents and/or magnetic effects are induced within the material or component under test and, from an assessment of the effects, deductions can be made about the nature and condition of the testpiece.

Eddy Current and Magnetic Testing of Magnetic Material by Uniform Eddy Current Probe
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2005Uniform eddy current probe comprised of an exciting tangential coil and a detecting pancake coil simultaneously conducts eddy current testing and magnetic testing of magnetic material. The eddy current testing detects parallel flaws to the magnetic flux and the magnetic testing detects perpendicular flaws.
