Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

About the analisys of simultaneous induction hardening method of pinions with circular coil [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2008
This paper proposes simultaneous hardeningmethod of pinions with eddy currents using circular coil. This proceeding remark in little clear advantage facefrom individual treatment of pinions tooth.

Eddy Current Transducer with Rotating Permanent Magnets to Test Planar Conducting Plates

open access: yesSensors, 2019
In this paper, we present an eddy current transducer with rotating permanent magnets for the inspection of planar conducting plates. The transducer consists of a rotating head with permanent magnets, which is used to generate variable magnetic fields and

3D-FOX—A 3D Transient Electromagnetic Code for Eddy Currents Computation in Superconducting Magnet Structures: DTT TF Fast Current Discharge Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Bulky metallic structures are needed in the toroidal field (TF) superconducting magnets for fusion applications to withstand the large Lorentz forces acting on the winding. The pulsed coil operation during a plasma scenario and the fast current discharge,

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Glymphatic Dysfunction Reflects Post‐Concussion Symptoms: Changes Within 1 Month and After 3 Months

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) may alter glymphatic function; however, its progression and variability remain obscure. This study examined glymphatic function following mTBI within 1 month and after 3 months post‐injury to determine whether variations in glymphatic function are associated with post‐traumatic symptom severity ...

Tidal and internal tidal impacts in the Tasman Sea

open access: yesGeoscience Letters, 2023
Barotropic and baroclinic tides were simulated for the Coral and Tasman Seas off eastern Australia and compared to a simulation without tides. Both simulations included geostrophic currents and replicated a current analogous to the East Australian ...

Low-parametric Induced Current-Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography for quantitative conductivity estimation of brain tissues using a priori information: a simulation study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Accurate estimation of the human head conductivity is important for the diagnosis and therapy of brain diseases. Induced Current - Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography (IC-MREIT) is a recently developed non-invasive technique for ...

Lessons Learned From a Delayed‐Start Trial of Modafinil for Freezing of Gait in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Freezing of gait (FOG) in people with Parkinson's disease (PwPD) is debilitating and has limited treatments. Modafinil modulates beta/gamma band activity in the pedunculopontine nucleus (PPN), like PPN deep brain stimulation. We therefore tested the hypothesis that Modafinil would improve FOG in PwPD.
