Mean value coordinates–based caricature and expression synthesis [PDF]
We present a novel method for caricature synthesis based on mean value coordinates (MVC). Our method can be applied to any single frontal face image to learn a specified caricature face pair for frontal and 3D caricature synthesis.

A hydro‐mechanically‐coupled XFEM model for the injection‐induced evolution of multiple fractures
Abstract In this paper, a two‐dimensional eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM) solution is presented for the hydro‐mechanically coupled hydro‐frac‐induced propagation of multiple fractures in rocks. Fractures are considered one‐dimensional objects, and the rock matrix is regarded as a two‐dimensional medium.

To predict the production of fractured horizontal wells more accurately, we establish a numerical simulation model of fractured horizontal wells that considers the threshold pressure gradient, non‐Darcy flow, and stress sensitivity using the embedded discrete fracture model.

Reservoir simulation for unconventional reservoirs requires proper history matching (HM) to quantify the uncertainties of fracture properties and proper modeling methods to address complex fracture geometry. An integrated method, namely embedded discrete

$S^{3}$ and $S^{4}$ Reductions of Type IIA Supergravity [PDF]
We construct a consistent reduction of type IIA supergravity on S^3, leading to a maximal gauged supergravity in seven dimensions with the full set of massless SO(4) Yang-Mills fields.

Water injection is often used to supply formation energy in low permeability reservoirs. A lot of field data shows that fractures nearby the wellbores may extend hundreds of meters because of the poor injectability which is called water-induced fractures.

Embedded Discrete Fracture Modeling as a Method to Upscale Permeability for Fractured Reservoirs
Fractured reservoirs are distributed widely over the world, and describing fluid flow in fractures is an important and challenging topic in research. Discrete fracture modeling (DFM) and equivalent continuum modeling are two principal methods used to ...
